About this listen

A bad boy prince meets his match in this epic Tattered Royals stand-alone romance.

I know men like him.

Powerful. Arrogant. Trouble. The world is his playground.

The playboy prince, the tabloid favorite, and the bane of my existence.

And unfortunately, he’s the only one who might be able to help me uncover the truth.

We're all but shackled together as he works to help me find my stalker before another attack

I don’t want to trust him. I don’t want to want him.

But letting Breck Waterford in might be the only thing to save us both.

I’ve never met a woman like her.

My secrets are mine to keep, but she has a habit of finding the truth.

Sparrow Bridges can’t discover who I am under the crown.

She’s everything I told myself I couldn’t have.

I push her away every chance I can...only every time I look at her, I fall harder.

When danger comes, I can’t stand the idea of losing her before I have a chance to claim her.

She doesn’t need a savior. But anyone who threatens Sparrow will soon find they don’t want me as an enemy.

Found all the chores to do so I could keep going

The bad boy playboy price and a female body guard brought in when his sister was in danger is now sticking around and he can't seem to look away. These two powerhouse authors have really put together a great series with Tattered Royals. I love the intertwining of characters as the series goes on. There is a decent amount of spice but the banter and angst keep it going. I love a story where the characters fight their feelings as long as possible.

Enemy Heir

4 Maple Leaf Review of Enemy Heir (Tattered Royals 2) by Nana Malone and Carrie Ann Ryan.

I would always tell my princess protector what was on my mind, even if I knew she would growl at me later.

Breck is known as the playboy prince and Sparrow has never been a huge fan of him. After Sparrow is attacked, everyone goes on high alert. Sparrow is determined to eliminate the threat, but it seems like the only one who can help her is Prince Breck. As they start spending more time together, their views of each other start to change. Trusting each other may be the only way to get out alive.

Breck comes off as arrogant but there is so much more underneath the surface that Sparrow is able to uncover. Sparrow is a strong and determined woman who loves her friends and family wholly. Breck and Sparrow have some epic banter between them and at the beginning, I wondered how they would ever end up together. Once they did come together, they had some amazing chemistry. It proves that sometimes the line between love and hate is very thin.

Enemy Heir can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading Royal Line first. I am excited to see what is coming next in the Tattered Royals series.

Audio... Shane East did another great job narrating Breck's parts of this story. This was my first time listening to Lacy Laurel and all though I did enjoy her narration of Sparrow's parts, I was not overly convinced by her British accent.

Enemy Heir is a royal, enemies to lovers, romantic suspense that is told in the first-person point of view of Breck and Sparrow.

Action and Romance

Good story. It fit that these two bookends should find each other. Would have liked it to be longer.

Enemy Heir

This is the second book of the Tattered Royals series by Nana Malone and Carrie Ann Ryan. It is Breck and Sparrow’s book. Breck is the playboy prince, heir to the throne, the spare, and the prince who doesn’t care. At least that is what he lets people think. Sparrow is the second in command of security company Kannon owns, and is helping him set up the new office in Alden. In the short time since Kannon fell in love with the Alden princess, London, Sparrow has been taken into the royal family. When Sparrow is attacked on palace grounds, Wilder and Breck promise to help her figure out what happened.

I am truly loving these books. The royal family of Alden is just amazing. Breck and Sparrow’s bickering and growling at each other made for many great moments in this book. I really hope we get more stories out of Alden.

Loved the suspense!

Enemy Heir was suspenseful and I loved everything about Sparrow and Breck. Sparrow works security for his family and Breck is a the playboy prince. These two do not get along and their banter was top notch, and fun. I love that Sparrow was fierce and feisty. Breck was protective even when they didn’t get along. I loved the passion between these two. The story kept me on the edge of my seat with the heart pounding mystery and suspense. I loved the pairing of Nana and Carrie Ann!

Lacy Laurel and Shane East perform this book in dual narration. They did amazing at bringing the banter between Sparrow and Breck. I loved both of their performances.

Enemy Heir

This is an engaging listen. I enjoyed getting Breck and Sparrow’s journey. It started out slow for me but the story does pick up. There is no denying the attraction between these two no matter how hard they try to ignore it. Both Sparrow and Breck are strong characters. It was nice to see that there was more to Breck than what he shows the world. As the two are figuring out their relationship they must also figure out who is behind the danger that comes for them. I was nice to see the two fight for their future. Narrators Shane East and Lacy Laurel did a good job of bringing this world to life and had me immersed in their journey.
