About this listen

"There has never been a mid ocean ditching by an air carrier jet." These are the words that haunt Captain Charlie Wells when he realizes that his jumbo jet has a problem over the Atlantic. None of the passengers or crew could know that a disgruntled airline mechanic has sentenced them to a night of terror. As the flight approaches the Equal Time Point, and is the most distant from land, Captain Wells and his crew of pilots and flight attendants struggle to avoid making history. While airline personnel, the FAA, and the FBI try to solve the mystery of Tri Con Flight 11, a small US Navy ship may be the only hope for the 208 souls on board.

Enjoyable

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was an enjoyable book I liked the performance very much the story was a little thin with the villain falling for getting left aboard being implausible but the ditching and rescue scenes were very good.

Would you recommend Equal Time Point to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes I would but just As a lite read was enjoyable don't expect to be blown away.

What does Thomas Block bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has an obvious grasp of aviation, his narrative is animated and dramatic. I like the music throughout as well adds to the feel of a scene

Could you see Equal Time Point being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No. Variation on a theme that's been done

Ditching Saga

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It is a good airline story about how loyal most typical airline employees really are .....except for one new executive who does not have the big picture of airline management and a mechanic who reacts vengefully against the reality of losing his job..

What about Thomas Block’s performance did you like?

Excellent narration by Mr. Block

Predictable plot, but still enjoyable

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it's a great "feel good" book. And I hope that isn't too much of a spoiler-alert!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Up through the accident - not so much. After the accident, it was more intriguing.

Have you listened to any of Thomas Block’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have listened to other Thomas Block performances. He does a fine job of conveying urgency during the accident.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did laugh a few times.

Ho hum

I listened to the whole story but the narration made this a painful listen. I felt like I was listening to a newscast from the 50's. The first part of the story where the main characters were introduced was slow and I almost stopped listening. Luckily the accident happened it the story got interesting but still difficult to listen to.
