Publisher's summary

Elani Stewart hasn't believed in "true love" or fairy tale endings since her parents' divorce.

It's one of the reasons she developed her dating service "E-romantic", a scientific algorithm-based process that matches one person to their most compatible partners.

When clients start dropping like flies, claiming that a bartender at The Arrow led them to the "love of their lives", she decides to take matters into her own hands or risk being clientless.

Little does she know she's up against the god of love and passion himself. If she can open herself to the possibilities and listen to destiny's call, she may learn to trust in love again and "soar" to new heights.

Creating a New Clan

This review is in two parts as I read the book first:

I don't know where to start. I guess with the simplest of declarations. I REALLY liked this. I love the skepticism, the banter, and the experiences that Elani and Eric / Eros share. The myths of Greek lore mixed with the here and now and the commingling of traditions from the Scottish culture were absolutely lovely and fun. Especially when a Greek God flies you to a deserted castle to have his wicked, supremely steamy way with you. Where can I sign up for THAT? 😘💙🔥

I do prefer to listen to this type of book but the reading experience was still worth it. Along those lines, I've been enjoying this series out of order and I think it's fine. There are small references to the prior books but, unless you know, you aren't likely to think much of it.

Oh, and that age gap? He's a god who's been around for hundreds, thousands of years. She's a mere mortal. 💋

UPDATED 3/2022:
OK. So, given the choice between read or listen, you ABSOLUTELY NEED to listen to this book. Hearing the banter and the accents is just *muah*. 🥰

Stella Bloom and Thomas Locklear bring this story to life and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to. I've enjoyed Thomas before but this was my first time listening to Stella. More of Thomas would've been preferred. I look forward to hearing both again.

Loved it

It got a bit sappy at times but nothing like I was expecting. I was dreading this one and had put off reading it because I thought the sweet sappiness would choke me. I was wrong! I really loved this one but poor Chelsea! Her sister and her best friend become goddesses and she gets left behind, how heartbreaking is that?

Another fun story in this contemporary mythos seri

Another fun story in this contemporary mythos series. I been wanting to find out more about Eros/Eric since he first started appearing. This story is full of laughter as "Eric" and Elani banter on their way to discovering their fates lie in one another. It may have not been a straight path, but the two finally get the HEA they deserve with some surprises and twists along the way. I also enjoedy the cameos from other gods and goddesses we've met along the way, and I am looking forward to the future books. Stella Bloom's terrific narration brought the story to life from the pages, and in the effort of full disclosure and honesty...I will admit I didn't care for Thomas Locklear's female voices...but he was only narrating a chapter so do not let that deter you from enjoying this story.

Heart’s unbound!

Elani a e-matchmaker programmer who does not believe in love and determined to save her business comforts Eric/Eros the bartender/love god and enters into a bet to use her love algorithm on herself. She meets a couple of duds and a potential mister right while secretly pinning for Eric. When Elani is stood up, Eric swoops in and saves the day. This is a classic true love story where soulmates find themselves and each other as they overcome personal heartaches. This book pulls you in. You’ll laugh, you’ll sigh you’ll root for Eros and Elani and you’ll fan yourself after that kiss! Carly did it again!

Logic vs Love

Eros is the fourth book in the series, but could be read as standalone. Characters from other stories make cameo appearances, but who they are and the relationships between everyone are clear.

Elani and Eric/Eros start off as enemies, although the animosity is all on her side. They evolve into frenemies, then to lovers. When she has to prove her algorithm works, her dates are hilarious disasters. Time to question the scientific approach to love.

I liked that the Psyche part of Eros' mythos wasn't just dismissed as something humans made up, and if she hadn't been mentioned at all, I would have wondered about her.

Family secrets are revealed, and there are a lot of "awww" moments. This story is by far the cutest in the whole series. The usual hilarity ensues as well. Nessie was a great touch for the change in setting to Scotland.

Poor Chelsea! First her best friend, then her sister find romance. I hope she gets a chance, too.

Stella Bloom and Thomas Locklear narrated. Since I've read the books out of order, when I saw two narrators I thought it was going to be duet, but Thomas only had one chapter at the end. I like his narration, but I'm not sure the narrative benefitted for changing everyone's voices for one scene. All the other chapters are capably performed by Stella Bloom.

Book 4 - Contemporary Mythos

Book 4 in Spade's incredible Contemporary Mythos series. Where greek gods find their mortal loves and HEA's ensue. A well written, fantastical romance with perfect dual narration! First let me start by saying that one of these narrators I have been following for awhile and I think can read no wrong and now I have another narrator to put on my fav to follow list! Beautiful voices, great accents and smooth as silk! Now - this series just keeps getting better and better and while this is a part of a series and I think any reader should try if possible to read from book 1 and in order, this can be read / listened to as a stand alone. Each book has been my favorite in the series and this is no exception. The god of love finds himself in love with a mortal who finds love for others but doesn't necessarily believe that she can find love - all that is challenged as the book progresses. I love both of these main characters, as well as supporting characters and the banter is so delightfully fun! A perfect mythology based love story this will delight from start to finish!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily.

4.5 rating Light Fun Cute

This was light and cute and fun, and I like the unique and interesting spin on Greek mythology. The narration would have been a 5 star because I LOVE Bloom !!! But Locklear did a very poor job with the female voices even Apollo's. His regular voice was nice but when he tried to adapt it to a specific character, not so good (Grimace) ! I am thankful he only narrated at the very end of the story. Still, this now shares the fav in the series spot with Hades.
