About this listen

In this fast-paced and deliciously witty spy romcom, a single mom finds herself wrapped up in unexpected adventure when she is recruited to pose as a secret agent, perfect for fans of Finlay Donovan Is Killing It.

Recently divorced Gabby Greene spends most of her days listening to self-help books while wrangling her loving yet erratic kids. During a decade of marriage, Gabby shoved aside her own career and ambitions to make room for mountains of laundry, running errands, and investigating the case of the missing socks. Her number one suspect: their Bichon Frise, Mr. Bubbles.

All that changes when a secret government agency comes knocking on Gabby's door, asking her to go undercover. At first, she thinks some reality show is pranking her, but apparently, she bears a striking resemblance to an agent recently murdered, and… well, desperate missions call for desperate measures. Soon Gabby is juggling motherhood and a crash course in Spying 101, led by a handsome James Bond-type who has secrets of his own.

As Gabby embarks on a dangerous mission involving money laundering, a Russian oligarch, and an unfortunate incident with a prosthetic nose, she begins to realize that she is far from the invisible housewife she once believed herself to be, and that maybe, just maybe, she might be capable of saving the day.

Critic reviews

“Gabby Greene is to spying what Finlay Donovan is to contract killing and Stephanie Plum is to bounty hunting. You’ll be laughing on one page, and your heart will be beating on the next.”—Kellye Garrett, award-winning author of Missing White Woman

This is a fun and fast-paced read! And amid all the action and funny situations, Tschida delivers
empowering reminders like valuing oneself and that being a good parent or partner does not mean being a doormat. I related to and rooted for Gabby, and I loved the friendship relationship with Justin.

Fun, fast-paced, and uplifting!

A lot like the Finlay Donovan series. At first I was worried it was going to be a knock off, but once you get a little bit further into the book it develops it's own unique storyline. It's unrealistic in several ways, but more than worth suspending logic for a bit. It's a fun read with some very good humor and, while there's some romance, it's not totally obsessed with that part. It was nice to have a storyline where the main character's growth as a person wasn't reliant on a new romantic relationship. I bought the author's other book shortly after finishing this one and will definitely be watching for any new releases from her.

Fun Book

This was such an amazing audio book! I laughed out loud many times. I think everyone needs a comedic spy novel in their life with the main character being a divorced Mom. Please bring more Gabby into our lives!!!! The narrator was also amazing. Brought the story to life.

Hilarious and relatable!!
