The plan was supposed to be simple, though it was a little more than I bargained for.
Graduate as a Magical Engineer? Check.
Get people to finally acknowledge my amazing tech skills? Check.
Find that special someone who wants me for me? Check...times a lot.
Avoid the Arcane Heirs at all costs? Erh....
Find out who was behind the resistance and stop them from killing even more people? It's a work in progress.
Stay out of trouble? *Crickets*
In my defense, chaos and trouble have always found me, no matter where I am. Having the Arcane Heirs going out of their way to win me over only seems to make things worse. Conflict is brewing, and somehow, I ended up stuck in the middle of it all. The last thing I wanted was to be caught in this tug of war, especially now that my magic has become erratic.
Erratic is book three of the Arcane Mage series, a reverse-harem romance intended for adult audiences.

Erratic starts shortly after the end of Hectic with Char running to Bast after her blow up with Blaze. Honestly I'm counting this book as Bast's. I mean it makes sense we barely got any thing with its salt from the first two novels. We learn so much more about necromancers and start to see that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Meaning those in power fabricate their own history of events to suit their own agendas. We also learn more about the lifestyle and beliefs the necromancers hold dear, we get the history of soul mates and how that has contributed to their societies forming of harems.
Lets talk Harem
My front runner i fear will always be Bast. He has been my favorite from the beginning even with the little face to face we saw of him. I love how dedicated he is to Char. he doesn't want anything from her except to be allowed to love her and be loved in return. I'm loving seeing the hints of the leader he is in this. he is the only member of the harem who is actively the leader. the rest of the RH are just heirs. Also Char can be unabashedly herself around Bast.
we barely saw Andres in this book but he's still in the # 2 spot. I just love him and cant wait to learn more. I'm obsessed with his relationship with Blair and i bet he has a brotherly relationship with Bast too. he just seems so genuine, and loveable like a teddy Bear
Theo has improved in this book. We still need more information for me to actually like him but i fear we will love him soon. However i do not like the Alpha Possessiveness that we saw at the end of the last book. Telling all the Heirs that Char is his and back off. Like she has a say in HER life. i predict Theo and Blaze will be the two that are complete A$$holes about the whole RH thing. We shall see. I also predict that Theo will be the last to cave and eventually will come to the conclusion that he is not worthy of Char (which he is not worthy of her greatness) and turn into this whoa is me sob story.
Next is Logan. I think if he gets past his superiority complex and actually gets to know Char and the other guys he will be a major softy but a massive Daddy in the sheets. I'm excited to learn more about him and see his motivations behind some of the things we have seen so far.
IDK but i really hate Blaze. he started off pissing me off thinking she is faking being the complete awesomeness that is herself and challenging her to duel which i didn't mind because i love a guy put in his place but even after he was cold towards her until she spilled coffee on her self and took off her pants then did a complete 180. As soon as that happened he became this complete a$$whole and a nasty possessive about it. i do think the whole cousin thing is being made a bigger deal then it actually is but I'm not complaining, because like i said i don't like him. we shall see what book 4 has in store for us.
I LOVE Blair. I'm obsessed. I hope we get to see so much more of her. She's honestly my spirt animal. I love her relationship with both her brothers. i hope in the end she gets maybe her own story? The world building is interesting. The magic system is cool and it interesting to be able to differentiate between battle magic and technological magic. i could read book after book set in this world. I feel like there is so much potential. Char was still recovering from the bombing most of this book so i hope we see more of her Bada$$ness in the next books.
The narration was phenomenal as always . i could almost feel the emotion through the audio. highly recommended i love the dual narration that we see. it really helps us understand more of the characters since there are 6 main characters and the books are relatively short. We needed their POVs to learn more about them

In this one we get to learn about Bast and his family and get some plot/world questions answered! I will say I loved Bast’s grandma so much, she brought so my lightness with her quirkiness hahah. I felt for Bast with people telling his secrets, but oh well. At least it was out in the open haha. I liked the whole bringing her magic back after we knew it wouldn’t be gone for long. A series about a magical engineer with no magic wasnt gonna fly for long haha. I appreciated getting to learn more about Bast’s powers and the combination needed for the ceremony. But btw is Bae #1!! I loved getting to know him more and his sexy scenes with Char were perfection (and funny about her talking about her down there's destruction, if you know what I mean haha).
I also enjoyed the scenes with Annie after everything had gone down. Theo finds out about her from Char and then Annie was ready for her and Theo to reunite. She had so much snark and funny moments, I hope we get to see her again soon in the future books. Funeral was an interesting scene not gonna lie haha. It would be so weird to be handling your sister’s funeral when you just talked to her or see her doing stuff at the funeral (what she did to get back at Char’s instigator haha).
I think the biggest thing that frustrated me for this story was Char and Blaze. I had to stop listening a couple times after Char’s thought process/inner monologue kept annoying me to no end. Like give him a chance to explain at least. He never lied to you about it, it apparently was MANY years ago based on some comments later in the book and book 4. The part really made me not like Char. It was so childish and didnt fit with her logical thought process from earlier in the book and as a Magical Engineer. I also was frustrated with some of Char’s potential suitors. Like Theo just needs to tell Char about what happened, explain it. It won’t fix it but it would give her closure and help them get back to maybe friends. And Logan....I am unsure what to say about him. I like the hints and nuances to his kink/persona but he is so hot and cold. He goes from liking and bring intrigued by Char, to being upset about not getting his MET quick enough. He is still up in the air for me if I will like him. I did love the mock battle with him and Char and him stripping hahaha. He definitely helped his case 🥵
Narration was good, nothing really knew to mention. I appreciated the emotional rollercoaster we got in this one. The baddies are even done well (I can’t wait til Char’s cousin gets her just reward). I thought they helped keep the readers engaged even despite the lack of plot movement with the rebels/resistance.
Not my fav of the series, slow & kinda frustrating

Bad narration for me

On top of that, the Main Character gets upset because someone that she met online hadn't told her a secret that would mean genocide for his people. Really? Why would anyone tell you that, let alone an online chat buddy. This wholee situation was full of juvenile behavior and reactions. I can't believe these are supposed to be grown ups.
I'm taking a break from this series to find something witchy. Listening to this feels like I'm babysitting a room of children.
Nothing happens for half the book
