Retired English School "Marm"

This is now officially one of my favorite stories, which says a great deal, from a high school and college English teacher who has read and read and read. Intrigued from the beginning by Will and Dani, their complicated, hurt-filled pasts, their struggles to know their life purposes and God's plans for their lives and their growing trust in each other blessed my romantic heart. Not only were they believable as "real" people, but I couldn't help wishing to KNOW them as friends and fellow believers. Susan May Warren touches my mind and my heart with every one of her books; she is God-gifted, and her characters never fail to draw me closer to Author of the universe. He is mighty and faithful in all His ways.

Escape to Morning

Yes, I enjoyed this story with suspense, intrigue, and even a romance in spite of the two main characters doing their best to not get embroiled in any entanglements. They are solely intent on doing their jobs.

However, as the two get to know each other, they begin to learn to trust each other and work on resolving the ghosts of their pasts and the conflicts and their friendship grows and blossoms.

Facing the dangers hidden in the woods as they strive to find the missing girl and avoid the terrorists keeps you engaged all the way. The final resolutions in the story bring it all to a tidy conclusion.

You might just enjoy this second book in the Team Hope series as you get to know a few of the characters a bit better. I know I did!

Great story, but....

I really enjoyed this story, but was put off by the long pauses. Some were 5 seconds - long enough to make me wonder what had happened to my iPad sound. What is the reason for them?

Not up to par with previous books by Warren.

What disappointed you about Escape to Morning?

I just couldn't get into it. I was reading it to my husband and neither one of us could figure where it was going and decided it wasn't worth our time.

Would you ever listen to anything by Susan May Warren again?

Maybe but it will be a while.

Would you be willing to try another one of Julia Gibson’s performances?

Not sure.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Escape to Morning?

Any additional comments?

There are so many great books waiting to be read. I will try to choose more carefully.

Not Good

I had listened to a lot of Christian suspense/romance and I must say, this was probably one of the worst stories. Everything about this story was silly. I don't know which one was worse- the plot or the characters. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this book. There are much better books out there.

Ridiculous and Sophmoric

Would you ever listen to anything by Susan May Warren again?

Not likely

What three words best describe Julia Gibson’s performance?

Juvenile, Unrealistic, Silly

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Frustration

Any additional comments?

The 'heroine' of the story was the least Christian. It's a constant struggle to fine writers who don't feed they must make women either weak or unreasonable, or either subserviant or selfish. I wonder if the author is 15 or is writing for a target group of 15 year olds.
