About this listen

The fourth installment in the best-selling Cassie Quinn mystery series from Wall Street Journal best-selling author L.T. Ryan and K.M. Rought. A gripping thriller with a touch of the paranormal that will keep you guessing until the end.

When a friend’s relative passes away, the family suspects foul play, but the evidence doesn’t match the accusation. But in the Big Easy, nothing is as it seems, and Cassie soon discovers there’s more to the story. Deciphering clues no one else can see becomes Cassie’s sole focus.

Cassie fights the tugging at her heartstrings and the raw emotions the case brings up to seek justice for the voice only she can hear.

A must-listen for fans of Ghost Whisperer and Medium, Gregg Olsen, Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni, Melinda Leigh, Kendra Elliot, and Mary Burton.

Well, Shoot.

I've been reading this series and liking it very much. Cassie Quinn is a woman with a lot of intrigue, yet she seems down-to-earth, approachable, and non-judgmental. I very much enjoyed the NOLA portion of this story, although I'm a little confused as to why one specific character from the region was brought in. I can only assume she will play a role in a later novel since she sort of dropped out of this one after a brief appearance. But with or without that character, the mystique of NOLA and the story line created for it was very enjoyable and definitely kept me guessing.

But I'm saddened with the choice of character the authors have decided to do without. Yes, I think I see where they're headed, and that's an interesting decision. At this point, though, I can't imagine the series without this character. I don't want to imagine the series without him. I've enjoyed the Cassie Quinn tales enough that I'll be waiting for the next book to see what goes on now. I can only hope that this will in some way turn out to be a good move for the series.

If you're new to Cassie Quinn and crew, I personally wouldn't recommend starting with this novel. Although it would be possible to enjoy it as a standalone, the reader will understand and appreciate this one better if they know the history the authors have revealed in the previous books. Either way, readers who enjoy mysteries or thrillers with a touch of the paranormal will enjoy this read.

SOOOO GOOD!!!!

I normally don't use a credit on books less than 10 hours but because the first three were a 3 for 1 credit, I found it to be a must listen on Book 4. Such talented authors AND narrator. However, I missed Sean Patrick Hopkins as the second narrator. His absence doesn't take away from Patricia Santomasso. She does a wonderful job but Sean just adds to the enjoyment. Moving on to Book 5.

Keeps getting better and better

At first I wasn’t so sure about this series, I am glad I stuck with it. Initially I purchased the box set for the books 1-3 on audible.
Now that I have finished book 4
I am anxiously waiting for the next two books to come out on audible.

Great series

Enjoying the down to earth character of Quinn and appreciating the anxious times shared through the unknown. Looking forward to the adventures and mysteries of book five.

Interesting storyline

I’ve read the first 4 books. I may not have done so if I hadn’t bought the 1-3 set. The topic is interesting but much of the writing seems “juvenile”. I found myself rolling my eyes frequently at the dialogue.
I was sorry that one of the main characters was eliminated. Not sure if i will read the next book.
I would like to hear another narrator.
