About this listen

Veterinarian Lauren Townsend has good reason for hiding her psychic ability. Not only did her “freakishness” earn her pariah status in the small town where she grew up, it cost her a fiancé and her faith in love. When Lauren foresees a murder - through the killer’s eyes - she traces the victim to a sprawling ranch, never guessing what waits for her....

Cal Taggart’s rugged ranch life doesn’t need any more complications. His stubborn determination cost him his marriage, and now it may cost him his livelihood. But then beautiful Lauren enters his corral....with danger close behind. And Cal wants nothing more than to protect her. They can’t deny their intense attraction. Nor do they want to. What begins as a fling with no strings becomes a fight for survival - and for true love.

What made the experience of listening to Every Breath She Takes the most enjoyable?

great book but I don't care for the narrators voices. Will check out other books from the same author.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I don't care for the voices. The main male sounds evil and he's not an evil character. The sinister character voice is less evil.

Great book

The storyline was okay. I liked the strong female character ...but the storyline could have been more cohesive.
The narrator did a good job with all the voices ...even if the male lead's voice kept changing ... :/

Was an okay story ....

Any additional comments?

I'm not really sure how I felt about this book. Parts were ok and parts got a little wordy and boring. I liked Cal but Lauren was a little annoying. It seemed kind of silly that she waited until the end of the book before she told Cal why she was really there. And, the author made Marlena so unlikable it made me not even care if Lauren saved Marlena or not. I really felt sorry for Brady and I hated his father, Harvey, who was really not his father, which I was glad of. This book did have lots of sexual tension and sex, which helped to make it a little better.

As to the narrator: I can honestly say I don't think I would ever listen to her again. She sounded like she was reading the dictionary one minute then was full of silly emotions the next. When Cal and Lauren were have sex, or were about to, Cal sounded like he did when he was hanging off the cliff and was struggling to breath. His passion filled voice was just horrible and a little creepy. Definitely would not want to listen to Ms. Beresford again. She was very inconsistant in her reading.

Just ok for me..

The first book I read by Norah Wilson was 'Nightfall', which I thoroughly enjoyed [I rated it 4 stars]. I enjoyed it enough to make me purchase all of her books and this is the 2nd one I listened to. Apparently it's a re-release of one of her early books. 'Every Breath She Takes' isn't as polished as 'Nightfall' was, but I still enjoyed it. I would technically give this book 3.5 stars because it does lack a bit compared to Nightfall and is a bit slower paced.

'Every Breath She Takes' has a decent story-line with likable, realistic and mature characters. Some steamy love scenes, but nothing over the top. My only complaint would be that the modern day cowboy vernacular isn't realistic. But this is fiction after all!

Overall for one of her first efforts, pretty enjoyable. I so enjoy reading books with mature characters and good story-lines, and that's what you get with Norah Wilson. I'm really looking forward to reading her other books which I've already purchased.

Emily Beresford was good with the female dialogue of the story but the male voices were not that good.

3.5 "Good But A Bit Predicable"

Lauren has these psychic visions that reduce her to a sort of fugue state that lasts for about an hour sometimes less. Her parents and siblings consider her weird and are in denial about what happens to her, which has affected the way she relates to them and others. This particular vision has finally given her information on where the crime is to take place. She decides to try to stop the murder of the beautiful woman in her vision. She finally arrives in Alberta, Canada at the dude ranch owned by Cal Taggart. The kicker is the murder victim to be is his estranged x-wife. The attraction between Cal and Lauren is not to be denied, however the murderer devises many schemes to hurt Cal and those he values.
The story is quite good and entertaining. No real twists just a straight up bad guy doing evil, and up to the good guys to prove he is the one doing it before they are eliminated.
Narrator did an ok job, you could tell male voices from female. Her intonations were good.

A Decent Listen

The story was intriguing and I did like how it played out but I hated the H. The H was constantly whining and I just couldn't care about why the H had issues. The h was unique and I liked the way the story played out with her.

I do like the author but hope she can write H's that are not so completely negative.

Decent Story

the storyline is entertaining. If you stick to the book alone it would be fine. But the narrator for the audiobook makes the male characters sound like they are whining all the time. I tried but I just could not enjoy it with this narrator.

story is good, narration not so good
