About this listen

Four women - four friends - share a determination to stop a killer who has been stalking newlyweds in San Francisco. Each one holds a piece of the puzzle: Lindsay Boxer is a homicide inspector in the San Francisco Police Department, Claire Washburn is a medical examiner, Jill Bernhardt is an assistant D.A., and Cindy Thomas just started working the crime desk of the San Francisco Chronicle.

But the usual procedures aren't bringing them any closer to stopping the killings. So these women form a Women's Murder Club to collaborate outside the box and pursue the case by sidestepping their bosses and giving one another a hand.

1st to Die is the start of a blazingly fast-paced and sensationally entertaining new series of crime thrillers.

The start of the Women's Murder Club

The members are Lindsay Boxer is a homicide inspector in the San Francisco Police Department, Claire Washburn is a medical examiner, Jill Bernhardt is an assistant D.A., and Cindy Thomas just started working the crime desk of the San Francisco Chronicle. They come together, these bright young women who are at the edge of breaking through the "glass ceiling", to solve they mystery of the brutal killings of newly wedded couples on their wedding nights.

"Working together, they track down the most terrifying and unexpected killer they have ever encountered-before a shocking conclusion in which everything they knew turns out to be devastatingly wrong."

It's the start of a good series from James Patterson whose words are well spoken by Suzanne Toren.

This is another book that I became curious about after watching the series on TV. I'm glad I did as this book at least is better than the series. Give it a go, you might discover the same thing.

Really enjoyed

James Patterson has been one of my favorites for years. I cannot hold books because of strength in my hands, audio books have brought me back to great stories.

Gripping

I loved it. I saw one of the twists coming but there were others I didn't. I really like the character of Lindsay Boxer, and the other women in the murder in are great. I cannot wait to read the next one!

Great story line. I had a hard time putting it down. My family kept trying to talk to me but I was so engrossed that I didn't hear them most of the time. I loved everything about this book.

Are you kidding me???

This completely implausible story was just ridiculous the whole way through. I struggled to stay with it and finish it. Waste of a credit.
