About this listen

Gifted with the ability to time-cross between Victorian-era London and World War II Washington, DC, Kathryn faces two lives fraught with danger. In 1938 amid the looming shadow of war, Kathryn is invited to the London Museum as a guest curator to create a groundbreaking exhibit on Jack the Ripper and his reign of terror. As she delves into her grim research, she uncovers a chilling truth: Her own sister is destined to become the Ripper's final victim decades earlier.

In 1888, in a race against fate, Kathryn is assisted by her handsome childhood friend in hunting down history's most elusive killer. As they unravel the threads of mystery woven through time, Kathryn must decide if she'll unmask the murderer history has chosen to hide, forfeiting a life with the man she loves to save her sister.

Loved this book! Very interesting topic! I’m glad the prolong explained the history, I had started trying to research before I finished the book, lol. The reader was excellent! Anxiously awaiting the next in this series!

Excellent!!!

I love Gabrielle Meyers writing and was really looking forward to the release of this book. The book is wonderful, as expected, but this new reader is way too dramatic - this book is written for adults, not children. I can appreciate her ability to do different voices, but it gets distracting. The reading of the book aside, the content of the book is sooo good!!!!! I highly recommend it.

Love the book, but too dramatic

Another great book from Gabrielle Meyers. I have read them all, and they stand the test of time, all time. It is almost time to begin the reading the series again.
If you are wondering whether to read this book, I say yes, and bravo!

I hated that it ended

Once again Gabrielle Myer has created a time crosser masterpiece. Even though I didn’t love the Free Mason thread I still enjoyed the book.

She has done it again!

I love this author and have listened to her other books multiple times!! I was looking forward to this release for months… the book was good. I did struggle with the story line. The conspiracy theory was a bit much for me; but enjoyed the villain perspective. The audio narration gets better midway through the book. Her Scottish accent was excellent and her French was not… I hope the next audio narrator changes in the next book… Patricia Santomasso would be a fantastic pick… Looking forward to the author’s new series releasing next month.

The conspiracy…

Once again, another winner in this amazing series. The depth of the characters, the fluidity of the two timelines, the rich and intelligent use of history that I personally love, all left me wanting more.

Fascinating!

This was my favorite book of the timeless series .. so well written, and considered on a subject little known to me.

Incredible story with intrigue and plot twists and brilliant narration.

Absolutely my very favorite so far in the timeless series! I can not get over how well history and fiction wove together in this mystery, thriller. Wow just amazing Gabrielle!

I’ve enjoyed the series so far and wanted my teen daughters to read it, both for the historical reference and the biblical worldview. However, if this had been book 1, I don’t think I would’ve continued with the series. The narrator’s voice was enjoyable but I too found her to be overly dramatic in her reading, making it feel almost cheesy - though I think there were also several instances in the text that seemed too obvious - I’m not sure if the main character was meant to be more oblivious to details because she was so headstrong in her own views, if there was less time to refine this book than the previous ones, or if I was just less drawn in because I lacked appreciation for the drama and so noticed things like that more readily… I didn’t expect or care for the details of the murders (I probably should’ve read the summary first, I just didn’t want any spoilers, so that one’s on me) nor the musings against free masons - I think that made it feel more detached from history than the previous novels, and while I appreciate speculation and possibility, it was a little too conspiracy theory tilted for me, at least in comparison to what I had come to expect from the other books. The biggest qualm I had with this one though was the voice given to Grace - it made her character sound cringe worthy and that’s not who I ‘knew’ and loved from the last story, so it didn’t feel right at all. I’m not sure whether this was intentional to show different points of view on the same person but I didn’t notice anything in the actual text to lend that direction so I think it would be alleviated by reading it in paperback… Michael Maybrick was another who was overdone, but that characterization was at least fitting… while I’m now skeptical of the upcoming release, I did find the author’s note helpful and love the way this story ended so perhaps I’ll let my enjoyment of the first four outweigh this one and still give it a go…

Good enough - but glad it wasn’t the first
