About this listen

An ex-con falsely accused of a crime, Braedan O’Connor has spent the past year in jail. Anxious to get home and start his life over, he’s surprised to find his home inhabited by a rather delectable woman - who's told the entire town she's his fiance.

Ainsley hadn’t expected to get caught in the man’s home. Face to face with the handsome stranger, one who makes her senses come alive, she isn’t sure what to expect. Knowing he was in jail frightens her, but her hands aren’t exactly clean either. Just how far is Ainsley willing to take her charade?

No cheating. No cliffhanger. Guaranteed HEA.

This is a nice little romance with some humor and some action that is very entertaining and the narrator does a great job bringing the characters to life

This is a short and quick read or, in my case, listen. I loved the story and thought the narrator did a pretty good job reading the story. The story is about Braedan and Ainsley. Ainsley is on the run and finds, what she believes to be, an abandoned home. She decides to stay for a night, which leads into longer. Braedan is serving time for a crime he did not commit. People start asking questions, when she finds out it is home, she tells people they are engaged. When he shows unexpectedly things get real interesting. I love the characters! They are so perfect for each other. This story does have a slight trigger for some but the author does a good job with the matter. The story has suspense, violence, passion and love.

This was a fun and a very steamy romance; I enjoyed it. Despite the length of the book, the storyline is well-paced and well-written. The narration by Elizabeth Meadowood is fabulous, clear, and precise. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

This is a sweet, short romance. So much story in such a short time. I like Paige Warren more and more! Narration was excellent as well.

I am a huge fan of this author. It’s a story of second chances. It’s a quick listen and I makes you feel good that for two people to meet and be destined for each other!

This was so sweet, and had enough drama, to make me want to read it more than once. Is the type I’ll go back to every few months. The characters were decent and responsible, and I was rooting for them.

A nice thing is that while it was insta-love, it was not insta-sex.

Narration was good—I felt she read it as the author intended it (emphasis in the right places, emotions that matched the dialogue, etc) and for me that is often more important that a perfect “voice” for each character.

I received a free copy of this book, but that has not influenced my review.

Satisfying instalove; sweet, good drama

A short but satisfying insta romance. Braeden is home from a prison sentence for a crime he didn't commit only to find his home is not in the shambles he expected but rather a home made possible by squatter Ainsley. Ainsley is no real squatter - she's in trouble and on the run. Braeden's protective instincts kick in and when Ainsley's past catches up to her he'll do whatever he needs to protect what he claims is his - fake or otherwise. Strong characters and sweet small town feel. A short but well written, well narrated romance!

I just spent two hours listening to the Audible version of this book. It was gifted to me by the author through Story Origin. The narrator does a wonderful job bringing these two characters to life.
Braedan and Ainsley meet because he is away in prison and she uses his abandoned house for her escape from an abusive relationship. He gets out early and bam! Two wonderful people meet. The past comes causing problems. The attraction sizzles. The love wins.
This contemporary romance is well written. Well told.

Wonderful characters.
