About this listen

In Scimitar’s Glory, the alien Tong won the Battle for Earth and took control of the orbital space around the planet. Humanity is now at their mercy, but not all Space Force warships have been defeated. Wolfe Koenig’s light cruiser, Excalibur, is on a mission to acquire technology that just might enable the ragged remnants of the Fleet to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat - if he can find an alien race with that technology, if he can convince them to trade for it, and if the technology can be exploited fast enough.

Excalibur’s Quest is the story of that mission and the challenges, both alien and human, that Koenig faces. This is the second book in the action-packed military SF Swordships Odyssey series.

Great story but Narrator fails for me

A Narrator can make a book more exciting or make it difficult to listen to and in this case the Narrator falls flat for me. Took a wonderful book & made it work to listen to.

I love Dietmar Wehr's sci fi. I've read almost every sci fi book he's written. I didn't love this Narrator. It's not that the narrator is bad, he would probably be great with children's books or a different type of story. I t just wasn't a good match for this dynamic sci fi story.

This author's wonderful work deserves a Narrator that can bring to life & relay the tension & excitement. Accent the ebb and flow of the dialogue. Someone like Christian Rummel, RC Bray, Ray Porter, Scott Aiello or Mark Boyette, for example, just to name a few from other sci fi works. I would've even preferred Luke Daniels, who narrated other Wehr novels. While not my favorite, he is much better than Gabriel Vaughn.

It saddens me to have the thing I remember most is the lack luster narrator. I would absolutely want to get the next book in the series to find out what happens next, because I really was attracted to the actual book, but I don't like to have to concentrate so hard on who's who or when something goes from descriptive to dialogue, etc.

Please, get a new narrator to do this series of fine sci fi fiction justice.
