About this listen
The Exposition of the Gospel of John is a careful and thorough study of the Apostle John’s gospel. It was originally published in Arthur W. Pink’s monthly Studies in the Scriptures. Prior to writing it, Pink studied the gospel of John for ten years (consulting over forty commentaries), and preached through John three times in three different churches.
Pink was like that trained scribe of Matthew 13:52 who “brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.” And what glorious treasures of Christ he brought out in this verse-by-verse exposition!
This audiobook is Volume 2, and contains chapters 34-72. It is read from the original as much as possible, with only minor changes to make it understandable to a listener.

Story
Arthur W. Pink gets right to the point in this brief but beneficial book. To pray correctly, Christians need clarity, and this book delivers. Pink said it well: “We need something better than that which is of mere human origin to guide us if we are to perform aright this essential duty.” This book assists the modern disciple to better understand the Lord’s Prayer taught to those first disciples long ago.

Story
While most of us barely begin to even consider the “why” questions, Arthur W. Pink plainly declared the unpopular truth about the root cause of all human maladies. In his incisive way, Pink explained that the reason for the human condition is a spiritual one. Man has been a rebel against his Maker ever since the rebellion of our first parents in the garden of Eden. In this book, there are unique insights into depravity not commonly found in the more modern writings on the topic, as well as very precious truths about the finished work of Jesus in saving sinners.

Story
From the moment of his conversion, Paul was a man of prayer. His many prayers scattered throughout his letters are among the richest sources in all of Scripture for getting a practical insight into the subject matter of God-honouring prayer. Pink's detailed study captures the essence of the apostle's concern for the congregations on whose behalf he consistency prayed. However, Gleanings from Paul is much more than a mere study of Paul's prayers. Pink's insights help to gain a more rounded understanding of the apostle himself, the God he served, and the churches he worked with.

Story
A. W. Pink (1886-1952) was a Christian pastor and author. In his book Why Four Gospels?, Pink explains the reason for the existence of four gospels in language that is easy to understand. He provides a detailed exegesis of each of the four, in order to explain the purpose and perspective of each. He concludes that the four gospels do not contradict but supplement one another to provide a more comprehensive portrait of the person of Jesus Christ.

Story
Doubt as to moral and spiritual truth is distilled through a score of channels. Our seats of learning are hotbeds of agnosticism. Our literature, with rare exceptions, makes light of God and jokes about sacred things. The newspapers, the radio broadcasts, public utterances, and private conversations are steadily but surely removing the foundations of righteousness and destroying what little faith in spiritual things still remain.

Story
The doctrine of reprobation—that is, the eternal, unconditional decree of God for the non-elect—is frequently misconstrued in both pastoral and theological literature. In Reprobation and God's Sovereignty, Peter Sammons reintroduces this oft-misunderstood doctrine, revealing its relationship to divine sovereignty. With Romans 9 as a guiding text, Sammons presents a thoroughly researched defense of reprobation as an essential part in a Reformed theology that magnifies God and encourages believers to trust in him.

Put on your armor - it’s time to fight. We are in a spiritual war, William Gurnall reminds us, and “the Christian’s safety lies in resisting. All the armour provided is to defend the Christian fighting, none to secure him flying; stand, and the day is ours; fly or yield, and all is lost". This hard-hitting volume is packed with biblical wisdom for day-to-day Christian living, as helpful today as it was when first published nearly 400 years ago. Although history left us little knowledge of William Gurnall’s life, it preserved this book.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
Because God has made himself known in his word, a commitment to a high view of scripture is of paramount importance. Sadly, more and more people - not only from outside the church, but also from within - are denying the complete truthfulness of God's word. Edited by pastor John MacArthur, this compilation of essays by a host of evangelical pastors, theologians, historians, and biblical scholars contends that the Bible is completely true and without error - a foundational belief for those who claim to honor God and his word.

Story
The life of Elijah has gripped the thought and imagination of preachers and writers in all ages. His sudden appearance out of complete obscurity, his dramatic interventions in the national history of Israel, his miracles, his departure from the earth in a chariot of fire all serve to that end. He comes in like a tempest, who went out like a whirlwind. The first we hear from him is an oath and a threat. It is fitting that the lessons which may be drawn from Elijah's ministry should be presented afresh to our generation.

Story
The grand truth of election takes us back to the beginning of all things. It predated the entrance of sin into the world, the fall of man, the incarnation of Christ, and the proclamation of the gospel. A correct understanding of it, especially in its relation to the everlasting covenant, is absolutely essential if we are to be kept from fundamental error. If the foundation be faulty, then the building erected upon it cannot be sound; and if we err in our conceptions of this basic truth, then in just proportion, so will our grasp of all other truth be inaccurate.
