Publisher's summary

"The present generation has, for the most part, been reared not only in an atmosphere of negative unbelief but of hostile unbelief. They live in a world where materialism and skepticism are rampant and dominant. In the great majority of homes the Sunday newspaper is the only thing read on the Lord's Day."

Doubt as to moral and spiritual truth is distilled through a score of channels. Our seats of learning are hotbeds of agnosticism. Our literature, with rare exceptions, makes light of God and jokes about sacred things. The newspapers, the radio broadcasts, public utterances, and private conversations are steadily but surely removing the foundations of righteousness and destroying what little faith in spiritual things still remain.

"The vast majority in the English-speaking world are totally ignorant of the contents of the Bible, know not that it is a Divine revelation, yea, question whether there be any God at all. Yet modern skepticism is rarely candid but is rather a refuge in which multitudes are sheltering from an accusing conscience. With such we are not here concerned, for where a prejudiced mind and a caviling spirit obtain, argument is useless; and we can but leave them unto the sovereign mercy of the Lord."

Very Deep, Very Moving, Very Satisfying!

Be prepared to sit under the teaching which is incredibly difficult to find in this age. So clear, so succinct, so ravishing is what A. W. Pink masterfully communicates that it might well surpass the blessedness which I have received from reading and listening to Pink's "The Attributes of God" as well as Pink's "The Sovereignty of God".

The last few chapters are so glorious I have had to continually pause, contemplate and stand in awe.

So profound, clear and deep is Pink's insight of the spiritual things of God's scripture that this has become a must re-listen. There is simply too much here to comprehend and assimilate in one reading.

Acknowledgement and a heartfelt Thank you must be given as this audible book was narrated to perfection by Jim Denison who made it even more palatable.

My only request is that he read more books from the venerable A. W. Pink collection and of the Puritans. There is so much more to discover...

doctrine of revelation

excellent book; well read ; we need to return to the teaching of the authority of God's Word. When we drift from the inerrancy of God's Word we also drift from the faith, for faith comes by hearing God's word.
modern weakness in faith is the direct result of weakness in Gods Word. We need ministers who are "mighty in the scriptures ", Arthur Pink was such a man,
but God is able to raise up more men like Pink if we commit ourselves prayerfully to the ministry of the Word.
I have been hoping for years to locate an Audible copy of "Gleanings in Exodus and Gleanings in Joshua", please answer my prayer..........Avid Reader.

Awesome Book

Excellent read!! This book is deep and thorough. It was instrumental for me as a caregiver. It was helpful in preparing and sharing with my terminal I’ll husband about heaven. I was able to explain with confidence how his transition into the presence of God would be. Before he passed both of our desire and perspectives changed. We were no longer consumed with the things of this world. Our focus in priority was on things above where Christ is seated. Having a tangible copy to share with others and to refer back to is a must for me

Not a commentary on Revelations

I was expecting a commentary on the Book of Revelations, and was very disappointed. However as a book about the doctrines of salvation, death, and glory, it is fascinating and encouraging. What a blessed hope of Resurrection and future glory in the Presence of God we will share!

the hopelessness of reformed theology

Pink apparently believes Christ only died for the elect. The word of God, as he teaches it, seems to only bring faith to those already in the faith. This is circular reasoning does not fit the gospel message to all people.
