About this listen

Growing up in the hood, Micha knew there were certain unwritten rules that were sacrosanct - practically biblical commandments: Do what you have to to get over. Never snitch; do your time like a man. And - above all else - never drop any hint that you might be gay. (Hell, if anybody even joked about it, you were honor-bound to break their jaw!) Initially, Micha has no problem with any of these, but an unexpected encounter suddenly awakens something in him that he never knew existed. Feelings. Longings. Desires. Physical needs that women prove incapable of satisfying. As Micha grapples with who and what he is, he crosses paths with Dre, a hardcore thug with a reputation for being cutthroat and ruthless - and a secret lifestyle that he'll do anything to keep hidden, including murder. Now Micah has to decide who's a friend and who's an enemy, and whether he'd prefer to live a life that's a complete lie, or risk everything to be who he is. African American

Audio kept cutting out

The digital audio was not the greatest. It kept cutting out at the beginning of each chapter. The audio did not fit the characters.

the virtual voice don't read right.

The story was better than I thought it would be. It's interesting how well dudes play they part as straight men. mm play is still a hard pill for me to swallow. I really think men should just be their truth, it would save a lot of hurt feelings, hearts, and trips to the clinic.

riveting, passionate and honest

The author takes readers on a journey of love, exploring the acceptance of one’s homosexuality amidst a community of unwelcoming norms. The narrative delves into themes of sacrifice and heartache, ultimately portraying a powerful story of living one's truth. Bravo to the author for their strength and insight.

Good storyline, Horrible narration

The storyline is the only reason why I didn't stop listening. This book was about 3 hours long and it took me 2 days to listen to it. The narration was cringingly horrible. Because this book was written using street slang dialect, it should have NEVER been narrated with an AI voice. There was absolutely no emotion.
