About this listen
Spirited away from Winstermill by the aristocratic monsterslayer, Europe, Rossamünd is still struggling with the truth of his origins. But self-doubt will have to wait as he plunges headlong into the fulgar’s day-to-day life of political manoeuvring, high society, and well-paid monster-hunting. Exposed to the seamier side of Brandenbrass society, Rossamünd finds himself facing the gravest dangers in his young life, and these will test his mettle and that of the Branden Rose in the ultimate battle against their enemies, the black-hearted schemers who would destroy them both.

Cornish is so creative, his use of the English language is marvelous. The pictures he painted with his choice of words are wonderful. My kids and I read/listened to these years ago, we shared them with my sister who also thoroughly enjoyed them. All of the book illustrations are amazing, bringing his words to life. I wish there would be more books like this in D. M. Cornish 's near future. Humphrey Bower's narration is so rich with expression, filled with pathos, making me loathe to take a break from listening. Now that I own them on Audible, I can listen as often as I desire. Thank you!!
