About this listen

A reluctant servant of Pharasma, Salim is no missionary. Yet when a desperate eidolon seeks his help in saving his master's soul, Salim has little choice in the matter. Saddled with a strange curse, this mysterious snake-man's creator is no longer in control of his actions - yet they may still weigh on his soul when it comes time for Pharasma's judgment. Only Salim can put a stop to events before they go too far. But are some souls really worth saving?

Excellent Short Story!

Good story and excellent performance by Ray Porter. Good use of the limited time to complete the tale.

Solid 9.5/10

Ray isn't on his best here- possibly something personal, possibly the short length simply don't encourage his A game- but it's still phenomenally done, and Sutter, as always, is fantastic.

Dirty 20

Very very deep lesson at the end. Good voice work. The only problem I have with this story is there is not much back story to the characters, they’re interesting for sure so I would of liked to see that. Good short read in my opinion

Enjoyable

A short story that had characters that I hope are better developed in a longer novel.

I really enjoyed it overall.

Not great

Unfortunately this one was really hard to listen to. The storytelling and the character are quite similar in their absolute cynicism and bitterness. It was difficult to finish even a short story such as this when everything was just indifference and grit. Saleem is a man with a purpose of serving some goddess but it's not a friendly relationship, nor impressive in a professional sense like Hitman or James Bond. He's just a jerk and seems to have a serious axe to grind with religion but it doesn't seem to make any sense as to why. I just get the sense the author was angry and wanted to take it out on his typewriter. I hate having little positive to say. The best thing was that this takes place in the Pathfinder world of Golarion. Ray Porter is great but even he seemed bored and trying to rush through material he obviously couldn't elevate, through no fault of his own. Sorry!

An excellent short story

This short story has an excellent setting, interesting characters and a surprising amount of heart. I found myself immediately wanting the story to continue. Well done!

GREAT INTRODUCTION TO NEW AUTHOR!

I loved it! Great writing, wonderful character building, and an awesome story. Couldn't have done better introducing someone to a new author and series. Definitely recommend.
