About this listen

With news of Horus' treachery spreading across the galaxy, the Great Crusade grinds to a halt as the primarchs and their Legions decide where their loyalty lies - with the Emperor or with the rebel Warmaster.

The Dark Angels, too, face a time of testing, both among the stars and on their home world, Caliban. Luther, once Lion El'Jonson's trusted second-in-command, now languishes as an exile in all but name while his master struggles to thwart the traitors' advance upon the forge world Diamat. But an ancient evil gathers its strength beneath the surface of Caliban, and the First Legion will soon be thrust into a deadly conflict where all that they know will be cast into doubt.

I love all the action, always something happening. Really loved the character build up, the Techmarine is God tier imo.

Such a great tale! Horus' Heresy knows no bounds, the epilogue makes certain of that.

For the Lion!

Narrative wise I think this was one of the best written books. I was starting to think the series was getting a little too predictable. There are really some great revelations in the epilogue and the action isn't bad. Narration is mostly fault less except for some reason one of the main characters, a space marine, sound like a kid. Hard to take him seriously when he sounds like his next sentence is going start with "gee willikers, Lion El'Johnson, sir..." Small complaint though.

Make sure you read decent of angels first.

Overall the probably in the top three so far

I found to was a wonderful and awesome read. The insight into the secretive nature of the Dark Angels and the story building makes for an excellent read, I look forward to listening to it again.

If you loved the lion and Luthor from “Descent of Angels”. Then you will eat this up. Finally we get some answers to why the Lion canned zahariel, Luthor, and almost all the other caliban knights back to caliban.
