About this listen

Ethan

I shouldn’t want Melanie as much as I do. She's gorgeous, fascinating, and…my friend’s sister, making her absolutely off limits. I shouldn’t want her, even if she’s perfect for me.

When she asks me to be her fake fiancé as a ploy for her promotion, I should say no. Though if I help her, it's my chance to prove to her that I’m not the man she thinks I am. But pretending isn’t my style, so she better be prepared for the real thing.

Melanie

I’ve been dreaming of being a firm partner for so long, but the current partners don't think I’m serious enough for the position. Saying that a forty-year-old playboy is my fiancé to prove my commitment is a huge lie, but I can’t exactly take it back now.

Pretending to be engaged, and not falling for Ethan, is proving to be a lot harder than I thought it would be. As we bury ourselves deeper and deeper into the lie, the charade becomes more real than it should, making my feelings for him more mixed up than his favorite cocktail.

Falling the Old Fashioned Way is a deliciously spicy fake engagement romantic comedy. It is an interconnected standalone in the Top Shelf Romances series, intended for mature audiences who enjoy on-page “adult fun”.

“I want to be the last thing you think about when you fall asleep and the first when you wake up.”

Ethan is the ultimate golden retriever book boyfriend, and Lance West did a spectacular job at bringing him to life. Andi Eloise also did an amazing job as Mel with all her sass and purrs and sensual tones. I honestly had so much fun listening to this story that I didn't want it to end.

Ethan and Mel had a one night stand after Ethan's best friend's wedding to Mel's brother. Only this was never a one night thing for Ethan and Mel only believed it was because of Ethan's reputation. One year later they come together again as fake fiancees but Ethan's condition is that they date for real even if the engagement is fake.

Did I already mention that Ethan is perfect? Because that man can do no wrong and I'll die on that hill. This man was all in from day one but still willing to take things at Mel's pace. And not only was he the sweetest guy, his spicy side was hot as hell, and I absolutely loved how Mel matched his dirty side. I also loved the chemistry and banter between Mel and Ethan and the interactions with the side characters.

Honestly, I feel like I could be here for hours talking about this book, so I'll just say that if you're looking for a fun light-hearted book, you definitely want to read/listen to this one.

Quote: “Hey now! I’m trying to be romantic, telling you how much I love and adore you, and you’re trying to get me hard. I feel used!”
