About this listen

Fern Michaels, the New York Times best-selling author of Late Bloomer and Crown Jewel, presents a passionate and heartwarming novella that will delight and inspire listeners every holiday season.

Right before Thanksgiving, a freak tornado descends on Larkspur, a small town in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains where matriarch and candy magnate Loretta Cisco (affectionately called "Cisco" by her grandchildren) lives, and levels the home she's inhabited for 50 years.

Then there's more bad news: Cisco's beloved triplet grandchildren, Hannah, Sara, and Sam, all newlyweds, are experiencing marital problems but they refuse to confide in their grandmother. Sam's wife Sonia has left him and Hannah and Sarah fear that their husbands are having affairs. Why else would they be coming home so late every night and keeping secrets?

As the citizens of Larkspur help to rebuild Cisco's home in time for Christmas, she vows to work a holiday miracle that will hold her family together.

Read it!

First I want to thank Laural Merlington for always doing such a fantastic job of narrating Fern Michael's books! Book 2 about the Cisco Family does provide a whole new epic situation for the family, to either split or figure out how to come together. An unexpected tornado - not just because tornados are usually unexpected; but because of where it hit and what it destroyed. Not only does the family fight through their trials, but the town comes together to help each other. Great short, read!

okay

okay story but the narrator didn't have enough different "voices" so it was confusing

I prefer real people

Too much imagination. Everything falls into place with money and relationships - just like a fairytale

Stepford wives, anyone??

This is the first--and last--Fern Michaels book I'll read. The plot is tortured and overwrought, and the sex roles are worse than the 50's---insipid women and self-absorbed men. The premise of the book---that triplets might need to do some work on becoming separate individuals--might have made an interesting novel in someone else's hands, but the boat plot is unbelievable. Other details, like rebuilding an entire house in a day, also strain credulity.

What’s happened to Fern Michaels?!

One of the worst books I’ve ever read/listened to.

Fern Michaels butchered the nice little family from the previous book—turned them all into ungrateful wretches :(
