About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Fern Michaels is back with a beautiful, bittersweet tale of two lonely people who find heart-healing love, only to be torn from each other's arms. For everyone who loved Dear Emily, here is another poignant Fern Michaels novel to savor - a story of love, grief, passion, renewal - and incredible second chances.

A brilliant career and loving friends weren't enough to heal Dr. Sara Killian's aching heart. For brief, magical moment, world famous rock star Dallas Lord was part of her life. Then he was suddenly and tragically taken away. But before he disappeared, Dallas gave Sara a priceless gift - a beautiful love song written just for her. It's a legacy that will take Sara places she'd never dreamed of - into intrigue, betrayal, and deadly danger. And when she meets Adam Lord, Dallas's older brother, she will find herself torn - between Adam, the most attractive and complicated man she'd ever known, and Dallas, the man her heart won't let her forget.

Unfinished

I liked the characters and the storyline was pretty good. But felt that the love story between Sara and Dallas could have been better developed. I never got the feeling they really loved each other and were meant to be together. Also, Sandy skipping bail was a good twist then it never went anywhere. She just disappeared, was she not a threat anymore? Felt there needed to be a better end to Sandy’s part as well.

Just ok

It was an ok story with ok performance. The story line was so elemental I almost stopped listening but I paid a credit so I finished it and it was ok.

Story was a good idea but

I am not sure why this author only uses older women for the reader. She is a good reader but her voice is not appropriate for a young women. She makes them sound old. And her voice for the men were not great. She made the male lead sound like he had Down syndrome instead of a learning disability. But that could also be the writing. And it wasn’t realistic that the very smart doctor would agree to marry him without loving him and without knowing him for like 2 weeks.

Sara’s Song

I love this interesting story and how the blending of different lifestyles didn’t conflict with way the people felt about each other, I hope we get a follow up novel!,,

Great story

I enjoyed the story until the end. It was a dry ending. It should have been an exciting climax, but it could have been the narrator. The narrator has no emotions when reading and cannot change her voice for the different characters. I struggled with the narrator, but the story kept me interested.
