Publisher's summary

Keep up with the Duncan family down South as we travel to New Orleans in The Family Business 7.

Operated by the same family for more than a century, Midnight Blues may be fun for the locals and the tourists, but as of late, the club hasn’t been fun for its owner, Big Shirley Duncan, or her son Tyrese, descendants of the original proprietors. The pair finds themselves in the middle of a turf war between local politicians, developers, and a ruthless underworld boss, Jean LeBlanc, who is looking to make a name for himself.

Afraid for the first time in her life that her family may lose control of The Blues, Big Shirley sends Tyrese to New York to see her brother-in-law, LC Duncan. In turn, LC enlists his nephew, bounty hunter Curtis Duncan, and his highly trained niece Lauryn Duncan, to help add some muscle and security to their family’s struggling business.

This audiobook is narrated by Elyse Anthony, Ace Bentley, K. Bernard, Morris Kellswater, Midnite Michael, and Charlie L. Wood

Cool new storyline

It took a while to get into the story, but it was good. I hated the female narrator for Big Shirley. She kept slipping into a New York accent.

Very Good

There will definitely be another book to wrap up all the loose ends. Can't wait, this was everything I hoped for.

Good luck

Overall this was a.good addition to the series however it kinda seemed all over the place. Several.POV's some that weren't necessarily needed. I hope that this author isn't writing the books to fit the tv show instead of writing the tv show to adapt to the books.

Stellar!

OMG! Please hurry up with 8. This book was so lit beginning to end. Got to meet some new characters and they played their roles. Where's uncle Levi and Will? I cannot wait for the next book! As always Mr. Carl Weber you rock!

narrators significantly better but plot too diverse

lots of moving parts to this one. it didn't button up nicely or button up the previous installment. Please take a long hard look at the narrators. they are an improvement but not the people this story deserves.

good story for its own branch off

When you leave a book on a cliff hanger, you expect the next book to answer your previous questions. This didn’t pick up from book 6 at all, other than the fact that we were introduced to Lauren previously, so we already knew her in this story.

it was a good story line but i’m not sure if it was a necessary addition to the series. i don’t watch the show because i read the series first and the series superseded the tv show so i couldn’t even bear to watch it. im assuming this may be an addition from the tv show and they’re just trying to make sure the book and show align for the most part.

This is a brand new story line.

For Carl to create such a wonderful spin-off and new storyline is absolutely amazing. This book left me wanting more! I can't wait for the next book.
The performance received three stars only because some of the narrators stumbled over words and read like they were beginners. I was thrown off and had to figure out the flow. Great work Carl!

the performers are much better

entertaining like all the entries but this story was weak. many plot lines in it were left open. The ending was absolutely terrible.
