About this listen

There’s a serial killer on the loose! It’s not Kate Gazzara’s first rodeo, but this one is…different.

Four young women, all with their throats cut, all with different backgrounds. What’s the connection? Is there one? And then there are the feathers. What do they mean?

Kate is under pressure to solve this one quickly, but there are no leads and no suspects, just…the feathers.

I love this series!

I love the Kate Gazzara series and I've listened to the entire series twice. It's that good! The characters are believable, develop over time, and the stories have twists and turns you will not see coming. Renee Maxwell gives an amazing performance in most of them (a few are performed by someone else, but Maxwell is my favorite). If you enjoy mystery and suspense wrapped up in police homicide investigations, then you will love this series.

Best Captain Gazzara yet

This is my favorite story line to date. Great job Blair! It felt a bit more sophisticated than a few of the others. Kate made some bad choices in this one and I’m happy that IA wasn’t a factor- it’s a bit redundant. Good book, great performance and I can’t wait for book 14+.

Another great Kate book

Blair Howard's success in this book isn't that it furthered along the development of Kate and her support personnel. We really didn't learn much about her we didn't already know. The success of this book is almost entirely because of the really great plot! It is a complicated Serial Killer tale with a satisfying conclusion.

Renne Maxwell is truly the perfect voice for Kate. The two are inseparable in my mind.

Looking forward to the next one.

Eneptness

It was a pretty good story up until Kate went to the house. How many stupid mistakes can you make. She should quit or be fired. she almost got herself and two of her detectives killed. First going into the house of a murder suspects house alone and the of awareness of the mother. Then at over five-eleven and twenty years as a cop not having the self defense skills to handle a sixty plus year old lady is ridiculous. The fact she forgot the old lady had her should not have mattered. She should have told other officers to arrest her the minute they entered the house. They would searched her and cuffed her and ended the threat. I don't understand why writers have to make cops so stupid to create drama and treat readers like morons.

Absolutely loved this book!!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Actually spent extra time on the treadmill so I could continue listening. As with all the previous Kate books, the narration was great. I listen to audio books all the time and Ms. Maxwell's voice is smooth and easy to understand.

P.S. I don't want to add any spoilers, but I loved the very end and can't wait to hear more about that particular development!
