About this listen

Enemy forces gather under the veil of darkness - mobilizing to strike a fledgling nation.

Will this clandestine Fifth Column achieve its acts of sabotage?

Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Once again, political suspense collides with postapocalyptic thriller fiction as critically acclaimed author Bobby Akart (The Lone Star series, The Blackout series, The Pandemic series, The Boston Brahmin series, and the Prepping for Tomorrow series) intertwines historical fact with plausible fiction in The Lone Star series.

The Republic of Texas has focused its efforts on the survival of its citizens to the detriment of those who seek to cross their borders. When an unforeseen enemy penetrates its defenses, the unthinkable happens, causing the nation to face its greatest test.

Can Texas come together to protect its own? Will the death of one of its own cause turmoil among the ranks? Will the advancing Fifth Column receive assistance from an unlikely source? The Lone Star series continues with Fifth Column.

The continuing saga of the Armstrong family and the renewal of the Republic of Texas continues without disappointment. You will not want to stop listening as the 1S1K victim as revealed and the family, the new nation and her citizens are thrust into new trial and tribulations. Bobby Akart tells a riveting story and provides what might be called political prophecy. Bobby also solidifies himself as the king of the literary cliffhanger. His endings just make you want to cuss your fool head off! If you are just reading this review for Fifth Column, make sure you get the first four books...they are a must!

Really good stuff, although it is a bit slow and over wordy in parts, what with being overly descriptive at times. Or possibly repetitive. I was on the edge in the beginning, then...Well I do love this series is all I can say.

On the edge of my seat reading.

Anthoer great book in the series. Very remincent of Jericho. Nice that the same voice actor has read them all.

Another Great...

I love this story and was listening to Sean all day. I was listening deep into the book, story and what happens next - then it ended. Sean held my interest all day, through at home with TV off, in car bluetoothed to the system, and from my phone in my pocket. Very good.

Excellent continuation of the series,

I have listened to all of the Texas books. This series is really good. I did have a question though. I understand an EMP took down the country's power grid and all electronics and that Texas had a hardened grid. But how does the death squad steel 70 new Ford pickup trucks from a dealership? Are they not venerable also? Other than that, this is a very well written series, and the narration was excellent. I will definitely listen to more Bobby Akart books and look for Sean Runnette to narrate.

Great series Great listen
