About this listen

A war was brewing within our borders.

Not a war with weapons, but one with words.

Until now. And so it begins....

The entire five-book terrorism thriller series is now available in a single boxed set.

Bobby Akart delivers up-all-night thrillers to listeners in 245 countries and territories worldwide. He has sold over one million books in all formats, which includes over 40 international bestsellers, in nearly 50 fiction and nonfiction genres.

The Doomsday series depicts America on the edge of societal collapse and destined for war.

As the story unfolds, it's New Year's Eve. As the ball drops in Times Square, Americans are preparing for a new year and a bright future. Instead, they find themselves fighting for their lives as the fuse has been lit that sends the country into chaos.

With political rancor at an all-time high, the war of words had escalated, and a political war erupts. Americans are caught in the crosshairs of societal unrest and a shadowy group stoking the fires of discontent burning in America. Words are replaced by weapons as neighbor turns on neighbor, and powerful forces stop at nothing to reshape a nation in turmoil.

America has become embroiled in something more than a clash of ideologies. She now faces a battle in which the blood of patriots and tyrants would be shed.

As Americans struggle to survive, some sought a place of safety where they could ride out the coming storm. However, even if they can overcome the threats confronting them, will they bear witness to an America hell-bent on destroying itself?

This is a story of a nation divided, on the cusp of a second civil war, and what that portends for our future. Remember, all empires collapse eventually, and America will be no exception.

Another great series!

I have really enjoyed reading my way through the author's books. Each new series leaves me scrambling to get another and this is no different. Fast paced. Great chatacter development.

great detail and execution

The book was a great listen. The story is all too close to home, which makes it all the more intriguing. Detail and accuracy made the story all the more plausible. The narrator performed well too.

Money and power

Current circumstances and past events are of insightful and conspiratorial theories about elections and candidates. Any one who wonders how in the heck we could be facing the prospective presidential candidates as the best we could find?...

Wasted opportunity

I really enjoy Bobby Akart’s work and had great hopes for this series. With a topic so big and so many volumes to fill, this could have been a work of epic proportion. But it wasn’t. In the midst of the story, there were many distracting mistakes and issues that could have been caught through careful editing. For instance, there are the repeated references to a Mossberg shotgun as a “rifle.” Huh? Or a multi-victim shooting in which the shooter - who acted in self-defense - is allowed to leave the scene without being interviewed downtown? And then we have the stunningly beautiful lawyer, a Duke Law graduate and former U.S. Supreme Court clerk, who is a partner with a D.C. law firm, and also happens to be an avid hunter, combat tactician, AND a spelunker. Yeah, right. And the Haven has a church, but they don’t get around to bringing a preacher on board. Maybe the Duke Law gal is a licensed monster too?

Some careful proofing and a good re-write would have served this book well.

Good story bad narrator

The story line is solid. It has a lot of action, believable scenarios and realistic characters. However, it is hard to listen because of the narrator.

The narrator is unbelievably bad. He has the single worst British accent I have ever heard. The voices he uses when doing female characters and children is cringeworthy. He brings nothing to any of the characters as far as the voice reflecting where they are from. Bobby did not do his books justice by using Chris Abernathy.

well thought out story

I loved this series
though I imagine some people will let their ignorance towards reality taint their opinion and give this a low score

Couldn’t wait to turn it on each day

Doomsday kept me engaged. I listen on my drive to and from work and found myself taking the long route many mornings. I specifically enjoyed the character development and details. But it wasn’t too much information. Mr Akart knows how to perfectly combine the facts with the fiction to keep you looking for more.

Great story with a dumb ending

Good listen and entertaining until the last half of the last book. It got more and more unrealistic and absurd. The series deserved a better ending!

Great series

Very insightful in todays polarized political/social divided nation! We, the true patriots of America need to stand up & stop the insanity of the left ripping apart our beloved America!
