Publisher's summary

Earth is alive. Deep beneath her skin is our planet's life blood. Rivers of molten iron, pushing around a core - her beating heart. This moving, fluid iron generates the magnetic field maintaining the delicate balance of life on earth. Until she has a change of heart.

International best-selling author Bobby Akart delivers pulse-pounding thrills in The Geostorm Series, the story of a planet-changing phenomenon, a natural disaster brought about by the Earth itself.

The Earth's magnetic field surrounds our planet like an invisible force field connected by a north and south pole. It's what makes compasses point north and it protects our atmosphere from the continual bombardment of geomagnetic storms from the Sun. Without a magnetic field, the planet's atmosphere would be stripped away leaving critical infrastructure at risk and humanity exposed to deadly radiation. What happens when these poles begin to wander? This field grows weaker with deadly consequences for all of humanity. The change in the world's climate could change the face of the planet as we know it.

Listeners will become enthralled with the discoveries of Chapman Boone, former storm chaser, and full-time field meteorologist who begins to experience extraordinary weather anomalies. His sister, Kristi Boone, is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine known for being attune to the exotic animals within her care. At first, the changes in the animals' behavior are subtle...until they aren't. Follow the story of the Squire and Sarah Boone family, Indiana farmers and their children who begin to recognize the signs of The Shift.

Great story. Average narration

The story is very intriguing and utilizes a lot of real science to create a narrative that is enjoying to follow. Characters are developed in such a way that it is easy to remain interested in their part of the story The narrator is hard to listen to sometimes. He pauses at points that don't always make sense and has odd inflections. It is a good story though and I'll finish the series for sure.

Interesting

A different narrator would have held my attention so much better. Otherwise an interesting read/listen.

Exciting

I am a weather nut. I love fiction about planetary, climatic, geological, astronomical scientific apocalyptic possibilities. This book contains a doomsday scenario. So exciting! And dont forget a love story. Indulge your nerdy side and immerse yourself in facts about our successful existence. This is really well written.

The premise sneaks up on the characters and you!

As usual Bobby Akart has written a book that will grab you and have you checking the Facebook feeds, Twitter and other sources of news to see if they are reporting on these things happening around the world. The thought of the poles sneaking and then quickly changing locations is the stuff of goose bumps. Throw in how the pets and other animals change and you've got the ingredients of nightmares. And you want the next book NOW!
Chris Abernathy does a marvelous job of presenting this book (as it's not just reading) to bring the situations seeming to happen as you are listening, and the people are each their own self and you suspend reality of one voice doing them all, and know you are listening to each character.
I highly recommend this and all the Bobby Akart books and Audibles by Chris Abernathy.

Best story line so far!

Different scientific topic and the utilization of animal instincts and reaction to the magnetic shift is particularly intriguing. Thank you for all your series collections. I always keep an eye out for new releases.

Loved the books, but too short

It felt like I was listening to these books and downloading the next one in record time. That's because the books are so short. In looking at my library, I don't have any books that are less than 10 hours long. The majority are between 10 - 16hours. They are prominent writers and I enjoy books that have a series. Bobby Akart's books are mostly between 6-7 hours. I like his books, but it's cost prohibitive to listen to them. There is a good deal of "catch up" at the beginning of each book with a lot of repeated information from the book prior book, which shortens the story time for each one. If he were to combine his books so it was one book for 12 hours, I will go back and listen to more of his series.
