Publisher's summary

He’s known as Bastard.

But deep down, he’s a saint.

Working day and night is all Jules had to look forward to in life. Dreaming of a better life was useless. It only gave false hope.

When her father forces her to go to The Pit, an illegal fighting ring, she figures it’s to serve drinks.

She never expected that she’d be serving herself.

Or that the brutal man known as Bastard, a street fighter from a prominent crime family, would take interest in her.

Reads like bad fan fiction

The narrator was pretty terrible, everyone pretty much had the same voice throughout, it made it hard to distinguish who was speaking at times and made the dirty talk that was already pretty poorly written just sound awkward. The dialogue in general was poorly written and at times the narrator pronounced some words wrong too. This felt like if a cringe TikTok eboy was brought to life and made into a cage fighter with bad fanfic sprinkled on top. I don't mind when a book is more spice than plot, because sometimes those books are fun, but this wasn't even good spice. Between the narrator, bad dialogue, and just all around fanfic feeling cringe, I'm surprised I didn't DNF this, but it was short so I stuck it out.
