About this listen

Hendrix Caldwell wants nothing more than to revitalize the family bar and tear down every last reminder of his no-good father. But business isn't the only thing on his mind. An explosive encounter with a stranger at a charity masquerade is just the distraction he craves, with no names and no strings attached. For Hendrix, sex is casual, and love is a four-letter word. His commitment is to his brothers, his bar, and his bike. So why can't he stop thinking about the naughty Cinderella who rocked his world then left him - and her panties - behind?

Olivia Hemmingway knows that fairy tales are for little girls. Drowning in debt and hiding a shameful secret, she won't be saved by a knight in tattooed armor, no matter how mind-blowing their one-night stand may have been. Olivia never expects to meet her masked lover again. But when she takes a job at Hendrix Caldwell's bar, her sexy new boss seems all too familiar. And once the lights go out and the music is turned up, the sparks between them burn hotter than ever....

Contains mature themes.

Loved it.

Loved it. I wish there was more books with this kind of moral to the story as I was a victim too and it took me a long time to forgive myself to realize that it was not my fault. I loved the way the characters helped each other mend their own troubles. The love scenes were hot very hot!

Tackles real women's issues

I appreciate the subject matter in this book & the way it was layed out. From pap smears, hpv, molestation, & CONSENT!
I didn't like the "crazy" word too much - and how it took so long for her to be seen as capable or competent. Just getting out of college though it is forgivable.
It was great that the wording was partnership.
although there were tough issues to tackle in a romance book - it was realistic - messy - ok.
I appreciated this book alot.
The voice actors were very good as well.

I Really Enjoyed this Book

Who wouldn't love to have a man like Hendrix. Even though I enjoy the super rich, dominating playboy books I often read. It was a breath of fresh air to read a book about a hard working man, falling in love with a young lady who had been broken and helping her to heal. This book is perfect.

Acceptance & Forgiveness

Hendrix & Olivia were a great couple and they healed each other. They met at an event masquerade ball and had sex. The FMC struggled with her past while trying to live a life after being sexually abused since the age fourteen. She worked two jobs because of her college debts and she finds out her boss at her second job was her one night stand. The MMC had loyalty to his brothers, a strong bond, grieving over the loss of their mother.
The story had humor, no cheating or angst. Sometimes books simulate life and real issues. Great book.

Very lovable characters 💕💕

Olivia gets roped into a charity masquerade where she has a lusty encounter with a masked stranger.
Not being able to see 🙈 eachother seriously enhanced the sexiness of this one nighter.
Hendrix is this hot tatted up bar owner with a love 'em and leave 'em reputation.
When Olivia ends up in a financial pickle, her job at the hospital just isn't going to cut covering the bills.
A second job is the only way to dig herself out of the hole.
The job quest leads her right to Coldwell's Bar.
The chemistry is apparent from the start with neither knowing they are the masked lovers from the masquerade.
When the sexual tension really starts to build a pair of panties surface that causes the realization of who they really are to sink in.
Things heat up pretty quickly in this somewhat drama filled listen.
The slow narration was kind of distracting in the beginning but, after playing with the speed setting it was perfect.
I'm glad that fixed the problem because I thoroughly enjoyed the book after that.
More than just a enticing hot hook up..
There's strong family bonds and lots of love 😍 here.
Definitely credit worthy!!

Loved this story!

I loved this first book in the Caldwell trilogy. The hero, Hendrix, is the oldest brother of the 3 Caldwells. They grew up in a dysfunctional family, with a wonderful mother and an alcoholic, abusive father. Their mother died a year ago and they are still grieving. They told the father to leave. Olivia (or Libby), is a recent graduate with a degree in social work. With a low paying starting salary and her car breaking down, she applies for a job at the Caldwell's bar. Incidentally, she doesn't realize that Hendrix is the guy she hooked up with at a masked charity ball. They start to have a relationship, but she is insecure because of trauma in the past and Hendrix has a doubt that he can be a long term kind of guy because of his father's example. The narration was great.
