About this listen

From the New York Times bestselling author of Front Desk comes the sequel to Finally Seen “that tackles tweenhood and technology woes head-on” (School Library Journal, starred review) when Lina tries to navigate social media, only to discover not everything online is what it seems.

When ten-year-old Lina Gao sees her mom’s video on social media take off, she’s captivated by the potential to be seen and heard! Maybe online she can finally find the confidence she craves. Whereas in real life she’s growing so fast, she feels like microwave popcorn, bursting out of her skin!

With the help of her two best friends, Carla and Finn, and her little sister, Millie, Lina sets off to go viral. Except there’s a lot more to social media than Lina ever imagined, like:

1. Seeing inside her classmates’ lives! Is she really the only person on the planet who doesn’t have a walk-in closet?
2. Group chats! Disappearing videos! What is everyone talking about in the secret chats? And how can she join?
3. A bazillion stories about what to eat, wear, and put on her face. Could they all be telling the truth? Everyone sounds so sure of what they’re saying!

As Lina descends deeper and deeper into social media, it will take all her strength to break free from the likes and find the courage to be her authentic self in this fast-paced world.

This book truthfully acknowledges that social media can provide immense opportunities to people. However, it also presents the undeniable fact that it possesses an addictive quality that can rob us of precious moments with our loved ones who are right in front of us. It emphasizes the importance of considering the feelings of those who read our posts on social media, a basic courtesy often overlooked by many. The book serves as a valuable lesson for both children and adults, and I highly recommend it to everyone for its insightful perspective on the impact of social media on our lives and relationships.

I love, but that would be all I have so I love that it gives an introduction to what girls go through and it’s a very good book. I love it.

It goes to show you how social media has taken over the world and how it affects both kids and adults alike. This was a really cute and genuine way to get the point across of how people treat one another. Sometimes it seem quite easy for someone to share their unsolicited opinions online where nobody really knows who they are instead of in person. Even though you feel you are doing it anonymously or sending subliminal messages it still hurts whomever it’s meant for. Lots of people get sprayed with unintentional remarks due to cyber bullying. It’s good to take a step back before you act.

Such a good sequel to the first book with amazing story telling and characters, it also is a very good book to teach about the online didhinabisuin effect.

I was listening to this on a long car ride, and it was very entertaining and interesting. I’m 12 and couldn’t really relate to having social media yet but this taught me a lot about the dangers of social media. And also emojis have meanings?!?! But I thought it was a great book and you should read it too. But it is the 2nd I. The series so read finally seen first it’s great too!♥️🧡💛💚🩵💜

I love Kelly Yang‘s wave, connecting teenage Mia and social media problems that exist in our world in a story makes you feel like you’re not alone. And generally just very good at writing the story Kelly Yang your books are the best for their character development keep writing.

Inspiration to the youth

I have a lot of problems with this book but my main point is some pretty strong evidence. Lina is so annoying ( the main character) she is always making stupid choices and can only talk about how hard her life for like half the actual book. Also Jessica the villain is just stupid and only has villan potential because of how stupid Lina is. Also don’t get. me started on there stupid insults if someone said one of those to me in fifth grade I would have laughed at them and walked away. So please never touch this book with a nine foot pole

This is horrible
