About this listen
When a secret enemies-with-benefits situation turns into the world’s most public fake marriage…
The world knows me as Landry Davis, supermodel. A beautiful face and killer abs that have spawned a hundred fantasies.
To my friends, I’m simply Landry, the snarkiest (read: most fun) member of our billionaire brotherhood.
But to Kenji Toma, the gorgeous and oh-so-capable personal assistant I’ve been in love with for years, I’m “effing Landry,” the charming slacker who disappears for weeks only to resurface in trouble. His favorite enemy-with benefits. A man he refuses to fall in love with (though I’ve tried) and also can’t resist managing (a fact I’m not too proud to take advantage of).
What none of them know is that I have another title–in fact, a whole other life. One I was born into. One that comes with sprawling estates, a coronet, and a metric ton of familial and political expectations. A life I’ve kept secret for way too long… and hope to keep secret for just a little while longer.
At least until I learn Kenji is in danger.
When all my money and fame can’t save the man I love, I don’t hesitate to use long-hidden political power to whisk him to safety, even though it means outing myself as Viscount Hawling, the elusive heir to the Davencourt earldom…
And pretending the man who loves to hate me is actually my doting husband.

When I left Birchbark angry and heartbroken, I vowed never to return. Fate had other plans. The father I hate had a stroke, so now I'm back in the Upper Peninsula to take care of him. The locals treat Dad like royalty, while Dad vacillates between open anger and flat-out ignoring me. Throw in my messy relationship with my brothers, and being in Birchbark becomes unbearable.

I’m such a cliché. Rich, successful… and bored out of my mind. A classic case of a midlife crisis probably, but instead of buying an expensive sports car, I go on a long business trip to Australia. Alone. I haven’t trusted myself to be with anyone since my best friend betrayed me, leaving me bleeding and heartbroken. Until a gorgeous surfer dude named Ocean falls into my lap. Literally. He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met. Bossy, carefree, and somehow, he reads me like an open book. I agree to him staying with me in Melbourne so we can have a fling. With me in charge, obviously.

When ghostwriter Maz Amani inherits a house from an uncle he’s never heard of, he offers heartfelt thanks to the universe, packs up his car, his cat, and his skepticism about mysterious uncles leaving all their worldly goods to unknown nephews, and high-tails it to a small town halfway to the Oregon coast. Anything would be better than week after week of couch surfing his way around Portland. Even if the alleged house is a rundown shack ridden with termites, spiders, and—shudder—rats, he’ll deal. Because hey, he owns a house!

Sometimes I want to punch that smirk off Atlas McCallister's pretty face. He's cocky. A troublemaker. A pain. And, unfortunately, my stepbrother. We've been fire and kerosene since our parents got together, and to keep from exploding into fistfights, we've used challenges, dares, and bets to battle out our differences. Our past bets have been a little inappropriate—scandalous, even—but Atlas's latest bet has gone too far. Do I really believe if he loses, my straight stepbrother is gonna mess around with a guy? And not just any guy: me, his rival and nemesis?

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

Except I didn't know the cute blond on the beach with the giant dog was my kid's teacher until two months later at Open House. Christian took my breath away during my vacation and introduced me to things I never knew could feel so good and be so right. Against protocol and my best intentions, I fell in love with the key witness I was assigned to protect. I know. Rookie move, Jamie. I guess I’m just a soft touch for beautiful, scared men who hide behind prickly sass and razor-sharp snark. With a little kindness and a lot of patience, I got to know the generous, caring man underneath all those barbs. But it took everything I had to keep things professional.

Fell a little short
I think this is the first time I give Lucy a 3 star review. But I must admit I was disappointed in this one.
There was so much anticipation for Kenji and Landry’s story.
This story had a lot of aspects to make it amazing:
1) Landy had a hidden second life we really knew nothing about
2) They have been in an enemies/friends/with benefits relationship for the past 3 years
3) Kenji is in danger and in need of saving
4) Umm, London royalty, need I say more?
But despite ALL of this, it just didn’t hit the mark.
The fact that we have countless memories of Landry being absolutely in love with Kenji, Kenji manages to reject Landry for such a long time is ridiculous. Honestly, I disliked Kenji for 80% of the book.
The “marriage” idea was so OTT that it felt out of place.
The romance was weird. We have cute sweet moments, but for most of the book Kenji and Landry are mad at each other, refusing to talk like adults, and even the sexy times were disconnected and lacking.
I wish we had more live interaction with the guys. I think that would have helped a lot because Landry and Kenji weren’t strong enough MCs to carry this book.
It just felt really anticlimactic and it didn’t work for me at all.
The ending was sweet, and we did have a lot of sweet cute moments. The guys coming together to help and be there for one another is always a treat.
Jamie was a great side character. And I can’t wait -I hope- Foster gets his story.
This was just a one off for me, but this series was AMAZING!

Amazing!
I love Landry and Kenji together. Their bickering is so much fun. I really enjoyed their story after so much tension between the two from the other books in this series. I also really love that the characters from the previous books are present in this book. And I would happily read another book about these two if that somehow manifests.

Michael Dean does a fantastic job
Well, I did it again. I have this big pet peeve with reading books out of order. In other words, this is book 5 in this series. Usually, if I realize this after I start, I'd stop and go back and find the first book and go from there. Recently, I seem to be just saying "what the heck?" and going forward anyway. Sometimes it matters, sometimes it doesn't.
This time, I don't think that it made a difference in being able to understand the story itself, but where I think it DID make a difference was in being able to feel the strong relationship that has been built between the Brotherhood in the last 4 books. Granted, I had no idea who any of the other guys were....there was that, but I did realize that the guys were extremely close. I still wonder if Kenji Toma was a big part of the group in the past, or if he just becomes important in this book?
So, about this book. First we meet our MMC Landry Davis, who is apparently a world famous supermodel. He is also a member of the Billionaire Brotherhood, which if I understand it correctly, they are 5 guys who developed some type of software that they eventually sold for billions of dollars. (Hence the name).
Then there is Kenji Toma, our other MMC - he is Landry's Personal Assistant. He is extremely smart and very capable. It looks like these two have been having what Kenji calls an "enemies with benefits" relationship for the last three years. They have kept it completely on the down low and neither man has been willing to move the relationship forward - well, Landry has tried, but Kenji thinks that Landry isn't serious about it and he has blown him off.
It appears that Landry has some secrets that he hasn't shared with anyone. His family is from England and the name he has been using lately is really a pseudonym because he is actually the heir to the Davenport Earldom - the Viscount Hawling. There is going to come a time when he will be called back to take his father's place in the House of Lords. But that won't be anytime soon, right?
When Kenji decides to finally take a well earned vacation, he chooses to go to a meditation retreat on some small island in South America. It is supposed to be a month long retreat without any electronics - meaning no phones. It just so happens that after 2 weeks, there is some type of uprising with the miners on the island and before you know it, it has blown up to a massive insurrection. The compound where Kenji is staying is taken over by the militants and all of the attendees are taken hostage. It is a very volatile situation.
The minute that Landry discovers what is going on, he is frantic and committed to doing whatever it takes to get Kenji rescued. To utilize some favors with the British PM, he states that Kenji is his fiancé, and he also says that he will come back to London and take his place in the House of Lords - as long as Kenji is rescued along with another high ranking British citizen. There is a ton of media coverage of the rescue and oops, Landry forgot to let any of his best friends know who he was BEFORE the news broke. Basically this book deals with the aftermath of all of this.
I really liked Kenji and honestly liked Landry as well. Both men are dealing with hurt feelings. Kenji, because he was lied to for the entirety of their relationship. Landry, because he has been trying to let Kenji know what his feelings are and has had his feelings thrown back in his face time and time again. Granted, Kenji is not walking in to a normal situation after the rescue. It is a down right media frenzy and that is a situation that he is NOT prepared for. He is also terrified of opening his heart and then realizing the Landry wasn't really serious.
Landry is the one I felt the worst for. He has completely upended his entire life. He isn't sorry either - he would have done anything for Kenji. But he is hurt. After everything he has done, Kenji is still treating him like the superficial "player" and charming socialite that he has convinced himself Landry is. And somehow, now the press thinks they are actually married......what?
This was a fun and easy to read story that flies by very quickly. As I mentioned before, I liked both characters and enjoyed getting to know them and also following along as the two of them tried to figure things out. It did however, make me want to go back and start with book one and go from there. Almost like that is a habit or something.......

I’ll burn the world
I’m so upset with myself. How could I not know about this series?! I had the amazing opportunity to be an ARC reader for Finding Lord Landry and I gotta say I’m so happy to be one of the first few to read it. I didn’t have time to catch up with the first books but you better believe I will. Landry and Kenji were everything. Yes, I was annoyed with both of them for their lack of communication and the unnecessary assumptions, but once that was out of the way they were absolutely adorable. Kenji’s ability to put order in Landry’s life was nothing short of amazing. He was the only one that could ground Landry and help him find balance. Landry’s love for Kenji was really sweet. Despite being “unrequited” for so long, he was always there for Kenji and would go through great lengths to keep him safe. I had a great time reading this book and truly recommend it.

LOVE THIS SERIES.
Absolutely in love with Landry’s and Kenji’s story. Landry is my favorite character in the Series, so it was nice to explore.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Although I did not understand how Cora could take over Earldom, being a female. And, I don’t believe it passes in a non-blood heir or Spouse.
Anyway, looking forward to Foster’s story next, hopefully.
