About this listen

When ghostwriter Maz Amani inherits a house from an uncle he’s never heard of, he offers heartfelt thanks to the universe, packs up his car, his cat, and his skepticism about mysterious uncles leaving all their worldly goods to unknown nephews, and high-tails it to a small town halfway to the Oregon coast.

Anything would be better than week after week of couch surfing his way around Portland. Even if the alleged house is a rundown shack ridden with termites, spiders, and—shudder—rats, he’ll deal. Because hey, he owns a house!

And when his legacy turns out to be a pristine Queen Anne beauty with nary a termite, spider, or rat in sight, he’s ready to stand the universe unlimited vodka shots.

Except not so fast.

Because instead, his house is ridden with something a little more on-brand for a place called Ghost…

I loved this when I read it for myself. Now, I love it even more because Greg Boudreau read it to me! This is a good book to read/ listen to on a rainy day. Equally enjoyable on my shaded summer porch. I can’t wait to see the next offering from EJ Russell. I’m hoping these characters have more stories to tell.

Mystical new contemporary book from my favorite author.

Very engrossing and sweet, with a few tears. The performance was well done. I look forward to another story with the same characters.

Maz Amani, narrated by Greg Boudreaux, is clever, optimistic, sweet, brave, and maybe a little too polite for his own good. Lucky for him, the people he meets don't use it against him...much. If only that pesky ghost would stop throwing stuff around!

With more of a cozy mystery feel than a romance, this story is lighthearted and fun. There's a bit of whodunnit, a bit of flirtation, a bit of danger and a lot of lovable characters. If you enjoyed E.J. Russell's Summer Kitchen, or Quest Investigations, you're sure to enjoy this introduction to the town of Ghost.

One good (ghost) writer

I really love good ghost story. It was slow at times and I knew who was the bad guy almost from the biggining, but I did not mind. It was really sweet and Greg Boudreaux did an amazing job!

sweet story with likeable characters

Good writing, interesting characters and a cozy small town setting with a paranormal twist. Overall Ghostridden was a toothacheingly sweet little who-done-it paranormal romance. Since this is a Book One I'll hold back on the sparse world building (The town of Ghost seems so interesting I really do hope to see more about it). Maz was a delight though it did feel sometimes that things were just happening to him instead of him being a part of the narrative. The story and romance felt rather rushed. It's hard to truly dive into a story when the whole thing takes place over a couple days. Still, I am looking forward to the next Ghost Townies novel.

TLDR; Good, cozy,light m/m, paranormal, quick read/listen.
