About this listen

Nino Cipri's Finna is a rambunctious, touching story that blends all the horrors the multiverse has to offer with the everyday awfulness of low-wage work. It explores queer relationships and queer feelings, capitalism and accountability, labor and love, all with a bouncing sense of humor and a commitment to the strange.

When an elderly customer at a Swedish big box furniture store - but not that one - slips through a portal to another dimension, it's up to two minimum-wage employees to track her across the multiverse and protect their company's bottom line. Multi-dimensional swashbuckling would be hard enough, but those two unfortunate souls broke up a week ago.

To find the missing granny, Ava and Jules will brave carnivorous furniture, swarms of identical furniture spokespeople, and the deep resentment simmering between them. Can friendship blossom from the ashes of their relationship? In infinite dimensions, all things are possible.

This was an amazing story. It had thrills, adventure, strange happenings, and a non romance love story. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire (too short) story.

Whimsical adventure

This is a fun, quick listen about two exes who must work together to find a missing granny who fell through a wormhole that suddenly opened in their Big Box Swedish furniture store. A great look at relationships, being honest with yourself and finding what really matters in this universe - and others. Ava (she/her) and Jules (they/them) had enough issues to break up, but can they work together to find the missing customer... and maybe find themselves in the process?

Stuck in Ikea (but not)

honestly I could read a much much longer story with these two going through different worlds. the idea is so fun and the characters are great. I really hope there's more!!

a short yet great and creative story

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it would be interesting, but it was much more than that.

Wonderfully Funny and Suspensful

I bought this on the enthusiasm of some reviewers and it's Hugo and Nebula noms. I found the concept interesting, and enjoyed the characters, angst and all. I'd be interested in reading a followup if they decide to write one.
The narration was fine overall, though it could have stood some editing where there were some slightly long breaks that took you a little out of the flow.

Interesting world, I'd like more!

Thank you for this book, Nino. It was everything and more. I Loved it. When my daughter is older I look forward to sharing it with her. 🌈❤️

The story I needed today.

This completely hit home with me as we all feel like our work lives are a weird and brutal alternate reality. Where risking life and limb might be worth a gift card from HQ

Fabulous Sci-fi for late stage capitalism

The performance was well done, but you can't fix that with a broken storyline. It was so forced and by the end of the book, I disliked the main character so much (how entitled can you possibly be?) that it was hard to finish. I understand suspending reality in order to enjoy a good read, but this book asked me to suspend judgment for characters that deserved it. The ending was a complete disappointment.

Wanted to love it...but didn't

This story blew me away! Such a simple premise — unfolding into myriad narrative possibilities. Wonderful…

Just simply "WOW!"

The arguing was too much for me. I appreciate a complicated relationship, but it got in the way.

great idea
