Handy for something but NOT so much for Cert I

This was a great guide for someone looking to get a civil service job, but for Firefighter Cert 1, it only has 1 useful chapter (19).
There were lots of interview tips and job search info if that is your issue, but the actual nity-grity firefighter stuff was largely ignored.

The information that was pertinent was represented on the Cert 1 exam, but there should have been far more of that material and less job search and interview stuff. Also, the EMT materials at the end were kind of pointless. There were no real skills represented in that section, it was all about why you need EMT Cert to make yourself more marketable (which is true).

Someone needs to develop a Cert 1 study guide that we can listen to on the road or in our free time and this was not it.

Sad I used an Audible credit on this

More career exploration.

Not for test prep, more career exploration, qualifications, entry requirements, and general overview. Narrator was good.

Dreadful

This has to be one of the most awful and redundant books ever produced. On 4 separate occasions in chapter 5, he states to “only write on your test booklet if you’re allowed to do so”. In chapter 7 it talks of the ineffectiveness of reading next to a dictionary and “how time Consuming it can be to look up every third word”.

I made it half way through this book and I can’t take it any longer. Save your money and buy “mastering the firefighter exam: Steve Cunningham”, or any other book besides this one.
