Fish Camp

This is an interesting and engaging story and the struggles faced by a young teenager who faces some things in life that no one should. We get to follow her on her trip from Mexico to the United States and the dangers she faces.
It has a few surprises in it that I didn't see coming and ended on a cliffhanger that left me wondering what is going to happen next.

Entertaining

This was a very interesting and entertaining story. The narrator did a wonderful job. So many times this story had you wondering what was going to happen next. So many twist and turns in this plot, some good some bad. It ends with a cliffhanger but then again this is a trilogy. Cannot wait to read the next book. Would recommend this book.

A very current story!

When I first started reading this book, I had very little knowledge of the current sad situation with drug and human traffickers and the plight of young girls, boys, women, and men who —through no fault of their own—sometimes find themselves caught up in this horrible web. This book weaves this needful info into a captivating, winding tale which has many unexpected twists and turns. It feels real as you’re listening to it; the narrator does an excellent job of speaking American English and then quickly transitioning to Spanish dialects or accents without being cheesy or disrespectful.

If you’re at all interested in the current topic of illegal immigration, or the horrible practice of human trafficking, this book is a must-read. It could be used in a high school literature study, but is also interesting enough for any adult to stay intrigued from beginning to end.

Enjoyed the story

I enjoyed the story. I found it educational as well as entertaining. Even though it is fiction, many of the dangers of crossing the boarder from Mexico and the reasons for the need to cross are real.

The narrator improved as the chapters progressed. She started out in constant drama crisis voice. But if you continue to listen it gets much better, with an nice ebb and flow of emotions and narrative.

I recommend this read for young adults and teens.

Can't Wait for the Sequel

This book was so interesting and eye-opening. It explored the brutal world of immigration and human trafficking. I especially loved that this book was targeted for a young audience. While the themes can be a bit rough for a young teen, the actual story is highly appropriate for adolescents. I love this book and I can't wait for the sequel, Forensics Camp, to be released!!

OMG this is good!

I have never heard of this author, but I am so glad I read this book. It was so good and it might make you cry so get the Kleenex ready. If you like stories of survival and the underdog winning this is a great book for you I loved it and will probably read it again it was that good. I thought the narrator had a beautiful voice and did a great job and now reading this book. I think her voice lent it to the tearjerking part and the fact that this could really happen and probably does.

✨TOTALLY HOOKED✨

Such a great listen! Fish Camp is a fast paced journey that grabs you from the very first chapter. I don’t want to spoil anything but I can say that I was pleasantly surprised as the plot thickened and continued to twist and turn. I had no idea it was the first book of three and now I can’t wait for the next two books to be released! Jillian Yetter captured each character and emotion as she narrated and really brought the story to life. Not only was Fish Camp entertaining, it was also eye opening to some very important social issues going on in our world today.
