About this listen

Thirty-year-old Daisy DiStefano has two people she holds dear: the grandmother who raised her and her three-year-old son, Elliott. But when Daisy's grandmother is killed, Daisy must take steps to protect herself and her child.

Thirty-six-year-old Brooks McClain has returned home to spend what little time his mother has left before she succumbs to a deadly disease. The seasoned investigative reporter has taken a position with the local newspaper and been on the job fewer than 24 hours when he's summoned to cover the death of Pauline Thorpe. Brooks is all business, but the more time he spends with Daisy, the more invested he becomes. And when the unthinkable happens, Brooks will do whatever it takes to clear the name of the woman he's fallen for and the child he'll protect at any cost.

It's Okay, However...

It's an okay story, I just have a couple of issues with it .RC Bray (Scott) is superfluous. That character having a voice adds nothing to the story, it only allows you to say that RC is one of the narrators, which will get more listeners. Great marketing strategy, but rather disappointing over all.
If a child talks like he is at least six please don't make him three. Sucking your thumb and discussing world peace will never mesh smoothly. Okay, that is a slight exaggeration but you get my drift...

All of her books are outstanding. This one is the first on I have listened to on Audible. I loved it. I experienced every emotion. The great detail was a great experience.

Cheesy but good

I had loved On the Island (print version because narration sample sounded shaky), so when I saw that this had good reviews and liked the audio sample I didn't hesitate to get it.

Like On the Island I finished this in a few days. It's a sweet, interesting though fairly predictable story narrated pretty well. I like that Garvis-Graves books are straightforward and pithy in a way that's makes the reading experience easy. I also appreciate that her protagonists are in their early 30s as opposed to 20s, the way they are in most new adult books.

I did notice that her dialogue is a bit unrealistic at times. People in her book talk how they would write and the sentences in the dialogue are overly polished.

The audio had some glitches where it was clear from abrupt changes in tone that the narrators were re-reading to fix errors in in the original narration.

In my opinion, the regular price seems rather high, especially since it's just 10 hours. But if you have a spare credit or it's on sale, go for it.

Wonderful Characters!

Every time I think of you is the story of two souls trying to find peace, a place to feel happy and at home.

Daisy was great heroin trying to live her dreams and make her life a little easier, but life and circumstances made her life more complicated, living with her grandmother she felt she could be safe and start a life.. but her past keeps lurking around trying to sabotage her projects her life anything good that she has.. until she meets him a guy that will change her life and her future, a gay that will bring everything she needs and wants including the love for her child.

Brookes was working hard in his career, he had so many projects and dreams, he wasn't ready for any changes, or at least he wasn't expecting anything to modify his plans, but life is about to change and his new project throws a life-changing event that he wasn't expecting, or better say he wasn't expecting her.

I really love the chemistry and the great interaction between Daisy and BRooks he was a true gentleman always very sensible and protective of Daisy and what she loves the most. I felt in love with Elliott he was an amazing character that brought also so much to this amazing story. the interaction between Elliott and brooks was heart-melting. I really enjoy him so much.

Other important characters show to make the life of Daisy and Brooks more miserable and also more enjoyable.

The narrations by Kristin Condon, Chris Patton, and R.C Bray really brought the story to life, I love how they really made me feel all the emotions and the angst whenever the characters were going through a rough patch.. I love how Kristin gave so much character and attitude to Elliott she really made me love him so much.. great narrations!!!

Overall it was a great story with the right amount of love, angst and funny moments that kept bringing so much to the story and the book.
