About this listen

"My father had more than 50 children."

So begins the haunting memoir of Anna LeBaron, daughter of the notorious polygamist and murderer Ervil LeBaron. With her father wanted by the FBI for killing anyone who tried to leave his cult - a radical branch of Mormonism - Anna and her siblings were constantly on the run with the other sister-wives. Often starving and always desperate, the children lived in terror. Even though there were dozens of them together, Anna always felt alone.

She escaped when she was 13 - but the nightmare was far from over.

A shocking true story of murder, fear, and betrayal, The Polygamist's Daughter is also the heart-cry of a fatherless girl and her search for love, faith, and a safe place to call home.

Good Enough

I enjoyed this book- it was very interesting and held my attention, although it wasn’t like some where I’ll take every chance I get to listen.
I was invested enough in Anna so I enjoyed hearing how things turned out for her.

An amazing and inspiring tale!

I've read several books on the LeBaron family and the violence perpetuated by Ervil and his followers. However this book stands apart from them and left me both cheering for Anna and mourning her loss. Her writing is compelling and informative in so many ways.

As someone that grew up in another polygamist cult, I know first-hand some of the experiences that she speaks about. Many which I've chosen to forget. These experiences are real, and I too have seen how so many in these cults are abused and mistreated.

Anna, thank you for telling your story! The world needs to hear this. And there are so many like me out there that heal a little bit more when we connect with stories like yours. It helps remind us that we're not crazy. That these things really did happen to us and to others. My best friends growing up are your cousins. Your story is powerful, and it will bless many lives and help many to heal!

Wonderful story of hope

Although this author was raised in a cult under outrageous circumstances, she was able to escape and find true love from her true father, Jesus Christ. Powerful story of redemption and hope.

Great Memoir!

Anna LeBaron’s memoir is shocking and touching at the same time. The honesty about the traumatic events that she experienced growing up in a polygamist world was fascinating. I am in awe of the incredible amount of persistence she showed as she did the hard work of healing. Thanks Anna for sharing your story with us!

Heartbreaking and absolutely amazing.

The Polygamist’s Daughter is an incredible memoir. Hearing Anna’s story in her own voice and words adds depth and emotion to an organically dramatic story. I love the redemption and healing that Anna found through Christ.

Fantastic book!!!

Once I started, I couldn’t stop listening! Such a compelling story. I love the conclusion that your story doesn’t have to end the way it began. You can write a different ending. What happened to you doesn’t have to define you. You have choices each and every day although they may not be the choices you want. What a story of hope and God’s redeeming love!
