About this listen
Dani Riman is the ultimate lesbian Casanova.
Dani, a 25-year-old genderqueer lesbian who wants to finish her first novel, may be having trouble writing, but she doesn’t have any problems getting beautiful women to sleep with her. That is, until she travels to Venice, Italy, the city of love and romance, and meets Sara, an alluring poetess and tour guide. Then all bets are off. What is it about this hard-to-get tour guide obsessed with Venetian history that makes her immune to Dani’s charms?
Dani is notoriously distracted by her sexual conquests. At least, that’s what her best friend, Veronica, claims. A successful food writer, Veronica is annoyed by Dani’s lack of follow-through, her one-night stands, and her inability to put down the torch for her closeted high school girlfriend, Michelle. So, she makes a bet with Dani, and when Dani loses, the penalty is she must go to Venice to write. Once there, Dani is haunted both by her past and by thoughts of the elusive Sara, who teaches her about the dark history of the Venetian Jewish ghetto even as she piques Dani’s amorous interest.
A coming-of-age story that promises laughs, romance, beautiful scenery, and a few historical facts.

Story
Juliette Jennings lives her life like a tightly laced corset—not that she’d ever wear one. As a business owner of a stationery store, structure is her favorite. But when her best friend and her ex fall head over heels for each other, everything unravels and leaves her exposed. Even worse, a scandalous lingerie shop has moved in next door, and its tantalizing window displays will drive away her conservative customers. If only the owner would turn off the charm, Juliette is sure she could stop imagining her in nothing but the shop’s lacy best sellers.

Josie Lockner scores big when she’s awarded a summer artist-in-residence in the small beach town of Goda, Massachusetts. The Wellingtons are the perfect host family, and Revere Estates the best backdrop. She’s more than ready to capture the beauty of nature with her pencils and brushes. Falling for the Wellingtons’ quiet neighbor, Olivia Monteclair, isn’t in the picture, but just because it won’t last forever doesn’t mean she can’t have some fun. Olivia’s peaceful days are interrupted when Josie, with her infectious grin and sunny disposition, crowds her space.

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. Story
Samantha Owens' estranged stepfather has died, leaving her his cottage in Nantucket - a place she fled years ago, never planning to return. As a single mom, Samantha can't afford to pass up a financial windfall like oceanfront property. So she travels home to fix up the house and sell it...never suspecting that Landon Reed still lives two doors down. As their long-dormant romance begins to bud again, Samantha must face a past that separated her from the God of her childhood. And she must tell Landon why she fled the island in the first place - a secret that could tear them apart.

All I can say, is wow truly amazing
I have been a big fan of the author since her first book, a non-fiction piece about the history of same-sex marriage in America, but it seems like with each book Davina‘s talent grows exponentially. This one is by far my favorite I was on the edge of my seat every step of the way I laughed. I cried. I got goosebumps at the end. This book made me feel all the feels. As a delightful added, treat, the book was narrated by the remarkably talented author herself.
It was also a wonderful piece of nostalgia having lived in San Francisco myself, and also having travel to Europe, although I have not yet been to Venice, I have had the experience of navigating a foreign country in which I did not speak the language and in doing so learned a great deal about myself as a Danni does in this book.
This is the lesbian romance novel we never knew we wanted or needed it had everything you could ever want in a story without the over bearing male presence found too often in even lesbian fiction. I hope to see this book turned into a movie someday I’ll be at the midnight showing if it is.
