Wonderful book!

This book gets you hooked from the first words uttered by the narrator. It was sweet and poignant at the same time. Mack and Jaime oozed chemistry like crazy. Mack’s inability to get out of her own head and allow Jaimie a second chance was crazy making but very believable.

Mack was very vulnerable, her fear of the unknown was palpable. Ironically, Jaime had done everything possible to reassure Mack that she would not betray her again,

The push/pull between them was felt very deeply the way Abby Craden narrated it.

Abby’s narration of the story was excellent and one of the best!

Very well done!

Still the One ❤️

This was a beautiful story about love, betrayal, forgiveness, and starting over - told in the way only Harper Bliss can tell it. The story of Mac and Jamie is hauntingly beautiful. You learn of the couple from the past to the present and see their struggles in trying to reconcile who they are together. I felt so drawn into their relationship that I went through all the emotions with them and then had to let go of their past as well for myself! 😭 It got me 💘

And then with Abby Craden added to the mix 👩‍🍳💋🤌

Another Fantastic Read from Harper!

Definitely my new favorite of the year, amazing character development for a shorter read. I have never listened to a book back-to-back but I’m already on my second go around. The Harper/Abby combination has never been better!!

Another terrific listen!

Harper Bliss is the master of making the impossible possible.

She has been tackling some serious challenges in some of her latest books. One was about a woman who falls in love with her brother's wife. Major taboo. And this second chance romance has to do with two women who are brought together 20 years after a painful breakup when one cheated the other, completely devastating her and throwing her life off course. When I see these scenarios I think, "How in the heck is she going to pull this one off?" And yet she always manages it. Not only manages - but expertly weaves the stories with painful, relatable honesty and insight. She doesn't cut corners or throw in ridiculous excuses for character behavior, but works through them in a way that encourages reader buy-in.

The Harper Bliss/Abby Craden combo is another of those dream teams that put them on the autobuy list. I don't even bother reading what they are about - just take my money. Especially now. Harper has been on a roll with these since A Breathless Place and I love every single one. For fans of that book, many of Harper's releases since have had interconnected characters - most of them associated with Isabel Adler. So it's kind of like Alice's "Chart" from the original L Word, with how people in the community are connected to one another. Very fun and I can't wait to see what we'll get next from her!

I also appreciated that this audiobook was six hours long. While I love a lengthy, meaty story, it's nice to have shorter books in between. This was an entertaining, moving and satisfying listen. Definitely recommend!

I was hooked from the get-go.

So many feels from this book. I shed tears. Tears of anger, sadness, and finally, tears of joyous satisfaction.
I didn't want it to end. And then there's the pure perfection of Abby Craden. 'Nuff said.

Forgiveness Is Love

I loved the characters and the message
of forgiveness! Forgiveness is for the person who is forgiven; and for the one bestowing the forgiveness!

Can’t understand why this doesn’t have 4.8 or 4.9 stars

This is a rock solid story. There are too few romances with characters who are flawed in interesting and believable ways. It’s also not afraid to engage with the bad decisions that were made in the past and the real and unavoidable consequences they have caused. The way it handles kids is particularly poignant in my opinion.
