About this listen

I’m not a deadbeat.
I didn’t know my kid existed before Milo showed up, but now that I do, I’m determined to keep my beautiful little Sofie in my life. Even if it means I need to spend time around her irritable uncle, Milo. The man pushes all of my buttons.

He riles me up until I can’t think of anything except kissing him. Definitely not the reaction he expects. He’s not out, but I’m not the type to hide. Is there any way to make it work for our new family?

Family means everything.
Eryk’s a cocky playboy. He’s not good enough to be my niece’s father, but unfortunately, DNA says otherwise. Father or not, I’m not about to walk out of little Sofie’s life.

Which means I have to walk into Eryk’s even though I can’t stand him. So why is he so hard to resist? I decided on a closeted life a long time ago. It’s the only way to stay safe and successful. Could I bring myself to step out of the closet if it means having the true love of a family?

Loved Eryk and Milo

Milo is grieving the loss of his sister as well as trying to parent her little girl. Add on that he is a famous actor in the middle of a film and that he has finally tracked down little Sophia's birth father. Who could blame him for punching first and asking questions later? Apparently Eryk and his twin sister Eryka. Finding a common ground isn't easy but for Sophia's sake it has to happen. Little does Eryk know, Milo's closet door is creaking open and so is his heart. I loved this story and the narration brought it all to life. Jumping into the rest of the series!

Refreshing!

I found this an engaging and lovely romance! Throw in the tattoo artist/reality star with the movie star, and an orphaned little girl and sparks are sure to fly! I love this series and this audiobook fits right in!

Very Enjoyable

Forbidden Ink is Book 6 in the Get Ink'd series. This is a wonderful addition to the series as Eryk finds out he's the father of a beautiful two year old girl named Sophia. Sophia's mother has died and her Uncle Milo is taking care of her. Telling Milo who Sophia's father was was one of the last things Milo's sister did and Milo took it upon himself to find Eryk and tell him he had a daughter. That first meeting didn't go so well but over time and for Sophia's sake Eryk and Milo grew to tolerate each other. And the more time they spent together, the more they were like a family, they grew to love each other. It was hard at first for Milo because he was still in the closet but after a grand gesture Milo and Eryk got their happy ending and their family. I love this series and can't wait for the next book. Definitely recommend this book and series.
Narrator Connor Brown does a wonderful job.

Enjoyable

After the death of his sister, movie star Milo becomes guardian to Sofie, his 2-year-old niece. He contacts Sofie's father, Eryk, a tattoo artist on a reality TV show. Eryk doesn't know that a one-night stand three years earlier resulted in a child. To Milo's surprise, instead of giving up parental rights, Eryk wants to become an active part of Sofie's life. As they get to know each other, an attraction grows between Milo and Eryk. But Milo is in the closet for the sake of his career. Can they make a relationship work?

I loved how these two heroes bonded over Sofie, who is adorable. The physical chemistry between them is strong. Living in the public eye gives them some common experiences, even though their upbringings were very different. All in all, an enjoyable story.

The audio book narration was well done. I wish there had been more differentiation between the two heroes' points of view. Eryk was described several times as having a baritone voice, so it would have been helpful if the chapters in Milo's POV had been pitched higher.

Thanks, Gay Romance Reviews, for the audio ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Love This Story

I’ve really enjoyed this series and this final book is now my favorite. Enemies to Lovers plus one not open about his sexuality. Dealing with real life issues made this book so much more believable.

An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance for Eryk and Milo

Book 6 of Ali Lyda’s ‘Get Ink’d’ series sees enemies-to-lovers, forbidden-love and single-dad tropes play out in a romance between playboy tattooist Eryk and closeted Hollywood star Milo. After a violent confrontation between the two over Eryk’s heretofore unknown paternity, he and Milo attempt to compromise over Sophia’s custody. Along the way, feelings between the two men develop.

I guess insta-love should be added to the trope mix because Eryk and Milo get over their animosity about Sophia pretty quickly. Once they start to get together the story turns into more of a Milo-has-to-stay-closeted-for-his-career type of story. Eryk is willing to keep it quiet, until he can’t. Will Milo choose career over love?

Lyda is also setting up for the Get Ink’d shop to expand to Las Angeles during this installment of the series. Eryk is going to move to be closer to his daughter. He helps in scouting out places to set up shop and hiring artists to work alongside him. The reader is introduced to a couple of these new guys. One of these new artists, along with another newly introduced character, will become the leads in the next book, which becomes clear with a scene added at the end of this one. I’m looking forward to that story; it should be just as interesting as all the others.

Conner Brown does a good job narrating. I think there could be a little more distinction among the characters' voices, but overall the delivery is well-done.

I requested this audiobook as a free review copy and I am now leaving an hostess opinion for it.

Fabulous narration and almost perfect story

I was given a free audio copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review.

M/M
Enemies to lovers
Slow burn

Milo is a actor who is gay but way deep in the closet to protect his career. Milo's sister has just passed and has left him custody of her 2 year old girl. Who is just so stinking cute btw. Right before she passes his sister confesses who the father is and asks Milo to find him and tell him so he can know her and tells Milo not to blame him cause she never told him. So he does and to say it doesn't go well is an understatement.

Eryk is a gay tattoo artist who is bi but with a preference for men. He is out and proud of it. He has a reputation for being carefree and promiscuous and not the type Milo wants to raise his precious neice but he's blood and they have to get along for the baby's sake.

Eryk is part of the Tattoo parlor reality show Get Inked but due to the circumstances the story doesn't show that aspect, so it is easily be read as a standalone.

This was an emotional Rollercoaster that sucked me in right from the beginning. The plot is fabulous. The story is interesting and has all the feels. A definite page turner. The characters are well developed and despite how they come across on the outside are both very sweet together and equally great to their girl. The perfect family. Due to the circumstances it is a slow burn but once they give in their chemistry is smoking hot. Great writing. I also liked that the last chapter is a preview of the next book and Kyzer seems equally great. I am definitely looking forward to reading it

This really would have been a 5 star read if it wasn't for the drama in the last hour that to me was unforgivable and really made me mad even though it was brief.

Narrator = 5 stars

The narrator had a pleasant reading voice. He kept good pace, though I did speed it up slightly. He expressed the emotions well and did a great performance and did different voices for all the characters.
