Publisher's summary
Paul Williams is an ex-SAS soldier who suffered physical and psychological injuries during an Afghanistan battle. After his wife Amanda leaves him, Williams begins a search to find and murder her. The army has trained him never to fail, never give up, and survive at all costs, and he is determined to succeed on his final, sacred mission. Using disguises, Williams passes for "normal" but he strikes ruthlessly when he finds any woman who resembles Amanda because he is incapable of mercy.
Williams has quickly become the worst serial killer in the State's history, and Detective Inspector Dillon Bradley heads a task force to stop him. But Williams has his own agenda and intends to cause as much havoc as possible. He will succeed in locating Amanda or die trying and take as many police officers as possible with him.

Although Scott Carey doesn’t look any different, he’s been steadily losing weight. There are a couple of other odd things, too. He weighs the same in his clothes and out of them, no matter how heavy they are. Scott doesn’t want to be poked and prodded. He mostly just wants someone else to know, and he trusts Doctor Bob Ellis. In the small town of Castle Rock, the setting of many of King’s most iconic stories, Scott is engaged in a low-grade - but escalating - battle with the lesbians next door whose dog regularly drops his business on Scott’s lawn. One of the women is friendly; the other, cold as ice.

Story

In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Fantastic and twisted story!
A terrifically twisted tale of love and murder. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I found myself wanting to listen just a little longer to see what was next. The narrator was perfect in bringing the story alive with just the right tone. I quickly forgot someone was reading and found myself immersed as if each of the characters were talking to me. Excellent all around story and narration!

Great listen!
The story pulled you in from the start with the character development and plot twists and turns. Mr King tells quite the thrilling tale.
The narrator did a great job of making you feel like you were actually listening to the thoughts and words directly from the originator. Very connected with the characters. Bravo gentlemen!

Pleasantly surprised!
After buying this book, I felt betrayed and conned. I also felt rather stupid, thinking I had purchased a book by Stephen King, totally missing the "B." I read it anyway since I'd already bought it, and WOW! It turned out to be a really great read! The performance of the narrator was also good, but there wasn't enough difference in the character's voices. I found myself rewinding a few times because I lost track of which character was speaking.
All in all, I highly recommend this book and I will definitely be buying more books by Stephen "B." King! 🤣

Thoroughly enjoyable
I just finished up Forever Night on a full days' drive. The plot is well balanced, progressing in a logical manner, no bother to follow, not so disconcerting as to take one's mind off driving, thereby creating an unsafe condition. The authentic Australian dialect of the smooth-spoken narrator lends credence to the various locales of the script. Highly recommend.

His best yet
Stephen has done it again with another one of his thrilling mass murder scenarios. With well developed characters , and the menacing voice of the narrator, the listener is left hanging as the massacre continues. Again , King delves deeply into the background, the upbringing and the environmental and developmental factors which lead to such a bizarre character. As with his Glimpses series, he gives a lot of time and effort to answer the question, how does all this happen, and why. Definitely leaves you exhausted.
