About this listen

Cathy Marie Hake, best-selling author of Fancy Pants, delivers a poignant romance set in 1891 Texas. Miss Hope Ladley believes God wants her to cook and clean for grieving widower Jacob Stauffer. But when Jacob hires the cheerful dynamo, he can't imagine the profound effect she'll have on his frightened sister, his motherless daughter, and on his own tender heart - or how much they'll all miss her if she leaves.©2008 Cathy Marie Hake (P)2008 Recorded Books Christian Fiction Fiction Genre Fiction Historical Historical Fiction Romance Funny Heartfelt Witty

Where does Forevermore rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

"Forevermore" is one of my favourite audiobooks in this genre. The narrator is pleasant to listen to, the characters are engaging, and the story has moments of humour and hearbreak. I would say that it's one of the top ten books I've listened to.

What did you like best about this story?

My favourite aspect of this story is how the main character, Hope, constantly mixes up cliches. The things she says are funny enough to make me laugh out loud, but there's always a nugget of wisdom in what she says.

What does Stina Nielsen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Stina Nielson has a very pleasant voice. She paces the story well- not too fast or slow- and does a good job conveying emotion. She doesn't differentiate between the characters' voices as clearly as some narrators, but as a result, all of the voices sound realistic.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

One of the characters in the book has left her abusive husband and is being sheltered by her brother. I found her storyline and her brother's dedication to her safety and recovery very moving. In fact, the support that all of the characters showed her was touching.

Any additional comments?

"Forevermore" was the first book I read by Cathy Marie Hake, and is my favourite that she's written. There is one that preceeds it in the series, "Fancy Pants" and two that come after. I don't like the third and fourth books in the series as much, but I would also recommend her books "Letter Perfect" and "Bittersweet" to anyone who enjoyed this book.

Unexpected fun

I really liked this book. It helped me see things in a different light when hearing the scripture as it was sprinkled in. However I do not know if anyone could have worked as hard as the heroine did! It was a story that kept my interest throughout.

I really enjoyed Fancy Pants, so I had high hopes for this one and am not disappointed. I really enjoyed the use of clichés, that definitely fit my since of humor. I liked how she paused with various characters' inner dialogue to deepen certain aspects of the story. The death seemed abrupt, kind of rushed, so if I could, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars, but I'd love to read more like this.

another great book

Cathy Marie Hake’s historical novel, Forevermore, connects an individual’s purpose and hope, even when they seem unattainable.
Stina Nielsen does a superb job in narrating the story. Her enthusiasm, accents, inflections, and the the melody in her voice all bring home the heart-warming story. Five stars all around!

Good book with exciting twist and turns. Good option for a chirstian fiction author and that's why I am going to try another one of her books.

I hadn't heard of the author previously so this was a pleasant surprise. Great characters, great story, funny, and witty. Most importantly, rightfully spiritual. Also a great narrator!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, the story line is well developed and the characters are strong. The family dynamics are like many of ours and show that grace will see us through.

What did you like best about this story?

The heroine was strong and funny. Sure of herself and her place in the world, confident of her skills and loyal to her friends.

Which scene was your favorite?

The harvest.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I really enjoyed listening to it daily on my drive to work. Something to look forward to.

The character of Hope is a Hoot!
The help she is to Jacob and Annie is for more than just on the farm and in the home, but in their hearts.
The LORD richly rewards her with Love and peace to stay where she has been planted this time.

Delightful and Funny
