Publisher's summary

When we live with unresolved anger or hurt, the result is nearly always bitterness, broken relationships, and unhealthy behaviors. Unforgiveness not only sabotages our interactions with those around us, it impedes our own spiritual growth and inner peace. And it can happen to anyone.

In her most vulnerable writing yet, Ruth Graham reveals how a visit to Angola Prison inspired her to release the unforgiveness lurking in her own heart - toward others, herself, and even her heavenly Father and her earthly father, evangelist Billy Graham.

Excellent! and relatable.

I knew when hearing Ruth Graham speak on the Huckabee show that I needed to hear this book. so I purchased the audio copy. at first I wasn't sure why but I knew somehow or another this book would be something to help me. at the beginning I realized she had been through things that many of us have been through. however, it was chapter 10 and 11 and the last chapter that I feel made the entire book worth it to me. My father worked frequently and was gone as well. I could relate to what she was saying. later, I ended up raising my daughter on my own. this book helped me identify things in myself to be able to talk with her to prevent her from walking down the same road that Ruth and I have traveled. thank you Ruth.

A not so easy to tell truth.

Ruth,Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I was very touched and also very encouraged. I am pretty good about forgiving others, but I am very hard on myself. I would like to think that might have changed some. Thank you Father for guiding Ruth to share your grace with us.

Truly Helpful

I watched some interview of the author last week and put this book at the top of my wish list. The author used so many Bible stories and enabled me to view God’s plans in a totally different light. I’m proud to have forgiven all for everything in the past and asked The Lord to reveal anything I haven’t. I cried in gratefulness for the candidness in the writing. I have another of her books on my wishlist for next month. Thanks for this book..

Ruth speaks truth from a tested heart

You don’t get to write a book like this without pain, heartache, trials, suffering, and ultimately freedom. Ruth combines the realities of life with God’s truth. What happens is a symphony of transformation.

We all have been on the bad side of pain from others actions. We all have caused pain from our actions. In this book, Ruth gets about as vulnerable and real as a person can. What an amazing place for such a well recognized person.

Thank you for writing this book and being an encouragement for all of us.

the best book so far on the topic of forgiveness.

raw honesty, authentic, real, showing the author is willing to help others on their own journey of healing by sharing her own stories of past pain & healing.. by allowing the listeners to read her life like an open book .. willingness to be put in a vulnerable as she unfold her life stories to the whole world.. provide insight, perspective, step-by-step healing process based on her own personal experience, show me the integration between Christianity and emotional healing. that a Christian still have to undergo the long messy wearisome journey of emotional healing, there is no such thing as instantaneous miracle on emotional healing. and that we can be healed, if we hang on to His promise, as we each are going through our own emotional healing journey.

I loved this book! It really touched my heart and helped me to understand aspects of forgiveness that I had never even considered. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent read!

This helped me understand a lot of my own personal failed relationships and helped me understand that rejection happens to many of us. Forgiving is the part that most of us struggle with when that affected you in a very negative way. I resonated with author’s experiences in many ways and helped me to be more accepting of my own struggles knowing I am not alone and that Christ had to suffer the ultimate punishment in my place.

Not Very Deep

I was very excited to start this book at high hopes. Perhaps it is because the things she discusses in her book I am already familiar with and have practice myself. It felt to me that there was a lot of filler in the book when there could have been more substantive content. God bless Ruth Graham. I’m sure many have been helped by her book.
