About this listen

The love between Aoife and David O'Brien has served as a beacon for generations of O'Briens. But they weren't always the matriarch and patriarch of the large family in County Clare.

Aoife Kerr lived a simple life in Donegal. The forgotten county at the northern tip of Ireland. Surrounded by friends and family, she never thought much about life beyond the port city where she was born. But one never knows what the sea wind will blow their way.

David O'Brien and his brother take positions on a sailing crew, making deliveries along the western coast of Ireland. After a challenging trip from Galway to Killybegs, David finds himself inside the shop of a master tailor and his stunning young assistant.

Amidst the oppressive church presence and the economic depression of the 1950s, two lovers and a band of beloved friends will endure tragedy, heartbreak, and the tense political climate of their beloved country. Friendships, faith, and a budding love affair will be brutally tested before they begin a beautiful journey that will withstand the test of time.

Best Book Yet

I loved Stacy Reynolds’s treatment of loss, as well as the challenges of women in 1950s rural Ireland. And I can’t wait for her next book!

Such a beautiful love story.

Loved the whole series. This one should’ve come with a box of kleenex. The story will stay with me…

Not prepared for the choking tears!

I’ve loved EVERY book in this series and have listened several times to each but this one has been my favorite. Aoife’s and David’s story is beautiful from start to heartbreaking end. My heart wrenched when it was beautiful Aoife’s time. This series HAS TO BECOME a television series and the characters brought to life! Stacey Reynolds has written a treasure!! Thank you for 12 amazing stories and please don’t ever stop.

I've read all of the O Brien tales. I love them all. Justine was absolutely the best choice for these books. I cried thru this entire book. It was like walking down memory lane with my own granny. Well done. Waiting for the next one!!

I can’t

I wasn’t really for this. Crying real tears. What a good book. And the end was so touching. To be able to see that and know everything will be alright.

Perfect. Ugly cry and laugh and all of it.

It might be that I haven’t missed any in this series but I think you can love this one all by itself too. Justine Eyre is so talented- a truly rare gift for character differentiation and accent. Just beautiful.
The story hits you in so many levels. Only problem is that you might look to your partner or husband roll your eyes and sigh with disgust.
These books are so far beyond romance novels.
Please write and produce the Cora novel soon!
