Editorial reviews

One of the most beloved and talented narrators to ever record a book, Frank Muller narrated over 200 audiobooks in his lifetime, from classics to contemporary best sellers, and won several awards in the process. Muller's jaw-dropping versatility is in full display here as he fully embodies characters, from George Smiley's weary and enigmatic demeanor to the crafty shrewdness of a Dickensian villain. After listening to this montage of Muller's best performances, listeners will find themselves agreeing with Stephen King's declaration that when Muller reads, "the blind will see, the lame will walk, and the deaf will hear."

I miss Muller’s voice. Please consider using AI (royalty to Muller Family) to bring his voice back.

Nice to hear Frank Miller's voice again. RIP. One can still listen to the many recordings Mr. Muller left us of his marvelous words/voice.

Missing Frank Muller

I too thoroughly enjoy books read by Frank. Like one of the other reviewers I would love to know the names of books that these excerpts were taken from. Can anyone help?

Such a sad loss

I was feeling annoyed for having to switch from Frank Muller to George Guidall after the 4th part of Dark Tower by Stephen King in Wolves of the Calla. George is a master in his own right but after books of Muller’s Roland I just couldn’t get George’s vocalisations of these characters. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and the Dark Tower would never be the same again.
What a talent. Sad that I found you and lost it too soon.

Thank you

Before listening to Stephen King's, the Talisman, I never really fully appreciated how a narrator could make or break an audio book. Frank Muller changed all that with his multiple voices and depth of expression. I found myself rewinding and listening again just for the hilarity in his cast of characters.

favorite narrator ever

The first book I ever listened to was Frank's reading of The Great Gatsby. That was the beginning of more than a quarter of a century of listening to books. Soon after that first book, I began to choose books that were read by Frank and was introduced to many brilliant authors I would not have otherwise picked up. Long commutes, days of yard work and vacations spent doing major projects became times I looked forward to because while doing them, I got to listen to Frank's story telling. I was delighted to find this, but was crying by the end.

A Voice Still Missed

This was a nice tribute to a gifted narrator. I loved listening to him read the stories and was so sad to hear that Frank was no longer with us. I read his biography and sounded like a great person. Rest in Peace, Frank. You are truly missed!

Sad to hear he is no longer with us

Frank Muller is the greatest narrator of all time. He is the ONLY narrator that I search for by name with Audible. I have bought audiobooks from authors I was unsure about, just to hear him dive into another narrative.

Muller's ability to embody characters, interpret the writer's voice, and always find the perfect delivery for each character, is what made him one of the most sought after narrators in the business. Put simply, he breathes life into the stories he reads, so we can immerse ourselves in literature.

Lastly, Muller has one of those golden voices that a small few are lucky enough to have. It's rich with tone, inflection, and just the right amount of gravel.

Frank Muller's passing is a true tragedy. The literary world lost an invaluable treasure Muller. I'm just glad he left us with such an outstanding and extensive body of work to remember him by.

The best to do it

I greatly enjoyed the wide selection of audio samples of Mr. Muller. it is truly a tragedy for all that such a great man and talented narrator left us all far too soon. My only critique is that I wish this audio file was longer. Such incredible dramatic ability and versatility!

Incredible narrator!!
