Enjoyable but took a few chapters to engross me

Enjoyable .. have read the other books so was familiar with the story but it did take me a bit to really get into it and have that .. "I wonder what's going to happen next" feeling. I would still recommend it as a light listen to/read. Just keep in mind its a very light story

Not as enjoyable as the real movies

Would you try another book from Ali McNamara and/or Finty Williams?

No, I think not. Yet, I did like the reader. I feel as if McNamara might grow up a bit.

Would you recommend From Notting Hill with Four Weddings...Actually to your friends? Why or why not?

No. I finished it because I was hoping for a twist. It is pretty darn shallow.

What aspect of Finty Williams’s performance would you have changed?

The reader was pretty good. It is not her fault she was given such lines.

Could you see From Notting Hill with Four Weddings...Actually being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

The premise led one to believe the book would have some depth, but it did not. This would be okay if the book held some huge humor or sardonic commentary or even a message. God forbid! The only reason I finished this book is that I was ill and in bed and had no other options. I thought the characters were beyond believable. Some, in fact, were simply as boring as if I were watching some lame tv show. Which I never do.

Love Ali McNamara books

The author’s characters have such fabulous personalities! Her plots are interesting and definitely keep you guessing. The narrator is also wonderful but when a character is a well known real person from another country, the accent is so important. Maybe the character could be quoted instead of talking. I still love the author and the narrator but as an American, it was painful for those few minutes. But all in all, I LOVED it and eagerly await any new books by Ali and read by Finty.

Not strictly a Comedy

It's not strictly a comedy. There's drama, a villain and some twists too. So a rollercoaster ride

Rather bland.

Nothing like the films, at all!
Plus, being a Brit who lives in the US absolutely cringed every time the narrator attempted an American accent. Dreadful. Had to abandon ship half way through as it was sinking...

Kept Thinking it Would Get Better

Finty Williams is a lovely narrator. The book was too improbable. I kept thinking the story was going somewhere interesting but fell flat. I love Chicklit books but this is not recommended.
