New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes her steamy contemporary stand-alone series with a secret that no one saw coming.

Nate Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret, though not just from their group - also from each other. Getting married when they were barely adults wasn’t in the cards when they made their plans for their future. Divorcing one another amid pain and heartbreak wasn’t either.

Years have passed, wounds have scabbed over and scarred, but their anger remains. If the two can open themselves to the impossible, they might be able to take that second chance. Only they’ll also have to fight their fears, the lies between them, and the desire they thought long gone.

Except they aren’t alone in their secrets, and if they aren’t careful, they may just be taking them to their graves.

A bonus epilogue is included.

Mayra and Nate have been fighting all along the series. They apparently know each other from the past. I liked the revelation on their relationship, they find their balance and love finds them again. Too bad awful family interferes and not in a good way. There’s always a bit of suspense in this series, the one in this story was compelling and a bit scary. Nate and Mayra get their own blind date of course. Apparently the Bradys are also doing the same as the girls. Sending their siblings to find love. I really enjoyed this book. Narration is so good, but I am thinking the voice for the girls sounds the same from book to book. It didn’t deter me from loving it though.

Nate Brady 🤩

I enjoyed getting to know Myra and Nate better after seeing them pop in and out of the previous books in this series. There’s a lot of deep emotion between Myra and Nate from the very first. Their history caught me completely off-guard. Throughout the other books, their enmity had already struck me as being deeper than the usual “rubbing each other the wrong way” that you often get in an enemies-to-lovers story, so it was great to finally find out more about the why of it. What I appreciate about Nate is the way he deals with the consequences of his accident, like the resulting migraines. It impacts his life, and he confronts that head-on, no ridiculous macho posturing. He isn’t too proud to admit he needs help sometimes. Love that. He’s definitely made some mistakes when it comes to Myra, understandable ones but mistakes nonetheless, and he takes responsibility for that and tries to do better, and all while being absolutely respectful of her wishes. Myra is a strong character, with the kind of strength that comes from heartbreak and overcoming obstacles. I really liked the way she was written. She isn’t perfect, but easy to relate to and sympathize with as she struggles to figure out how to deal with all that life throws at her. And boy, that’s a lot. I like the blend of romance and danger in this series, but for this final story, I’d have liked a bit more suspense or unease earlier on to lend more gravitas to the threat that comes their way so unexpectedly. I’d have liked the evil character to have been more fleshed out.
Narration: Another wonderful dual narration by Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke! Their voices mesh beautifully. Jason Clarke’s deep and warm voice never fails to captivate me, and I was 100% onboard with his interpretation of Nate. Emma Wilder did a great job conveying Myra’s vulnerable side and hidden hurts below the cooler, confident façade she shows the world. Her voice for Myra and the emotion she brought to her performance really fit the character.

Sparks fly in this enemies-to-lovers romance!

Book 4 in Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan
Myra is last in her friends to follow through with the dating pact.
The women pair her with Nate Brady not knowing that they have a very dark complicated past.
When there around each other you can feel the tension and you can tell they hate each other.
But when some some awful memories come up and lies are uncovered can they make it work.
I live this book and devoured it in 2 days especially with it been audible with the amazing Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder.
Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to write the best anguish sexual tension story ever. Absolutely love the Brady’s just as much as the Montgomery’s.

This book, the final one in the Promise Me Series was, for me personally, the best yet! You could listen to this book as a standalone story but you will get so much more from the story in you have already enjoyed the first three as all the characters and their histories are closely linked.

From the first book, I have had a soft spot for Nate and wondered about the animosity between him and Mira, well in this book we find out why they behave the way they do. Nathan, Nate, Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret from everyone in their circle, friends and family alike. Years before when they were in college they met, fell in love and quickly married each other. But where most people can't wait to tell their families and friends they kept their marriage a secret. They were so young, barely adults and the marriage was a spontaneous act taking place in Vegas over Spring Break. Before they had the chance to tell anyone they ended up divorcing one another, the pain and heartbreak that followed explains how they feel now. Years may have passed, but their anger remains.

As they share so many close connections, his three brothers are in love with her three friends they agree to try and at least be friends. But can you just be friends with someone you still love, even if it feels like hate? In this book, we find out why they divorced. We learn more of Mira's family, and why she has cut all ties with them. What will happen when they tell their long-buried secret to their families and friends?

Carrie Ann has woven a story which pulled at my heart-strings and kept me glued to my headphones. I just could not stop listening. The storyline delivers drama and angst as well as palpable chemistry and love. I could say more but I don't want to spoil your enjoyment of this wonderfully moving story.

The narration of this book by Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke is so well done, the characters are all so familiar to them now as they have narrated the whole series, they naturally become the characters and you know instantly who is speaking. I love their narration and thank them and Carrie Ann for the enjoyment they have given me.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

This is the final book in the Promise Me series, the last Brady brother, Nate, and the last of the pact sisters, Myra. They have a secret they’ve been keeping from everyone (a doozie of one too!) and they’re trying to navigate around that. When Myra’s nasty parents & cousin drop in unexpectedly, they drop a few bombs on her, and Nate, which leads to to tell their secret. And maybe get a second chance. But life isn’t ever that easy. Emotions are never that easy. And they end up having to deal with more than just their hearts. This was a great ending to the series. Filled with lots of emotions, fun, sexiness, and of course, some danger. I will never tire of listening to Jason Clarke telling me a story 😍 Emma Wilder did a great job also. I’m happy the pact sisters and Brady brothers ended up making their own family. You can never have too much! ❤️

A great finale!!
