About this listen

The final novel in the best-selling Blessing, North Dakota, saga! When the women of Blessing decide to give Toby Valders a push to propose to Deborah MacCallister, their matchmaking scheme yields unexpected results. Facing a crossroads in her life, Deborah finds she is no longer certain which path she should choose.

Deborah MacCallister, head nurse at the Blessing hospital, has loved Toby Valders since her school days, but she's had enough of their on-again, off-again relationship. Toby truly cares for Deborah, but he's never felt like he could commit to marriage or a family.

When Anton Genddarm, the new schoolteacher, comes to town, the young women of Blessing see a chance to force Toby's hand with a little strategic matchmaking. But real sparks fly between Deborah and Anton, and she finds herself in an even more complicated situation. The attention she gets from Anton makes Toby do some serious soul-searching, but is it too late?

Then Deborah receives an invitation to study the latest advances in nursing at a hospital in Chicago, and she faces a hard choice: leave or stay? Should she give up on the dream of Toby and accept the interest of Anton?

Good story

I enjoyed the story but the Narrater’s attempt at Norwegian accent was horrible. Just read the story, don’t bother with a fake accent, not necessary. (Almost made me delete this book it was so irritating to listen to)

Good

I thought this was more of a bridge to the next series. Good but I wanted more love story than facts about the buildings and growth in blessing. I’m not a fan of the narration. I don’t like voices for different people especially accents.

Another good story about Blessing

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Laurine Snelling's books bring the era to life. I believe to get the full impact of the town of Blessing and its residents, it's best to read from the beginning of the series. You won't be sorry. As you move through each book, you get to know the characters and care about them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

As the matriarch and initial character, Ingeborg has to be my favorite. The series takes her from a young married woman to an elder in the community. Her wisdom, kindness, and loving nature make her impossible not to like!

Have you listened to any of Stina Nielsen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

As always, Stina Nielsen did a great job. You can easily identify the character who is speaking and her voice is very pleasant to a long listen.

Another great book by Lauraine snelling

As she always does Snelling brings a bygone era to living color. I laughed I cried it moved me Bob. Some books pertaing to Christian historical fiction are sugarcoated so everyone lives and problems are few. Snelling is brutally authentic to the issues of the late 1800s and early 1900s. She weaves characters who are accurate to the times and they go through struggles and tragedies that are at the same time universal and unique to the era and geography she writes about. You feel a sense of kinship with her characters and feel a dose of heartbreak when her characters face loss and even death. I find myself with tears rolling down my face. It is my opinion she is the best writer of historical fiction of our time.

All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

Enjoyed this book with the many loved characters all grown up. So sweet to hear of Deborah going from a sick and starving orphan to a registered nurse and useful part of the Blessing community.

Incredible series & well narrated

I have loved all the Red River/Blessing series - wonderful stories with trials and triumphs & God’s wisdom poured throughout. The narrator is fantastic, even doing accents well. How she kept track of everyone is amazing. Well done.
