About this listen

Enigmatic. With a wildly gifted mind, and an untamed head of hair to match, petite powerhouse Millicent Frost is brilliant when it comes to gadgets and electronics—less so with people. After an attempt to bust a bank scam goes awry, Millie is in hot water with Homeland Security and targeted by lethal enemies. In the midst of the trouble, she heads home to help out with the family hunting and fishing business. But when their rival competitor and Millie's ex is murdered, she's the number one suspect . . .

Irresistible. Former Marine turned lawyer Scott Terentson devotes himself to getting his clients out of tricky binds. A loner, the last thing he wants is to belong to any team, yet the Deep Ops group considers him one of their own—and he pays the price by getting shot at by their enemies. Now Millie is seeking his help—just as he's dealing with a brutal fail regarding a recent trial. Both are a headache, yet he's drawn to Millie in spite of himself. They're opposites, but maybe the old adage is true . . .

Electric. Working together, Millie and Scott soon have more on their hands than they bargained for as the danger escalates—along with the sizzling heat between them. And when a disappearance is thrown into the mix, all bets are off . . .

Good story bad narrator

Story was good but the narration sucks. I wished they had kept Roger Wayne for the whole series

it was ok

A bit disappointed. I honestly didn't remember Scott and struggled to connect with him. Millie, while and interesting character, was also a bit hard to connect with. I missed having all the other characters show up in the book and those they did had very minor part in the story. So, unfortunately, my least favorite of the series.

🌻This one missed the mark😭🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I have absolutely loved this series, from the start. It has a great cast of quirky characters , intrigue, action, humor and new romance in each book. There isn’t a lot naughty times, but the few that there are sexy and romantic. I even love the alcoholic German Shepherd with a high heel fetish and scarred cat that tamed a scarred soldier’s damaged soul.

However, this book didn’t involve any of the Deep Ops team members, except the H and h, until 2/3 through the book, and even then, it wasn’t the entire team. Therefore, this story lacked all the interactions that I have enjoyed most.

In addition, the solution to the mystery was not at all believable; and it was seriously underwhelming.

I also found some of the dialogue rather cheesy. To be honest, I haven’t decided whether it was the words or the performance of this new narrator.

Roger Wayne narrated all the previous books and he did an outstanding job. I hope they have him narrate any future books, or I fear the rest of the series will be dismal.
If Roger Wayne isn’t available, then they need to find someone other than this narrator. I hate to be overly critical, however, this narrator was not a good pick. Roger Wayne brought the characters and this world to life.

I’m sorry Ms Zanetti, this is the first book of yours that I did not love, and I have every book you have available on audible.

Might be better reading

The 2nd book the narrator's female voice was so awful I just couldn't listen & it was a great read. All of them till now we're fantastic. I am going to have to do a review for every book. Bec of the bad review & this one.

This book same issue. Except he might have done great if he didn't sound monotone. He has a sexy voice he just needs to feel it abit!🤓🙄🫣😆

Great story, horrible narrator

The story was action packed, dealt with PTSD issues well & Roscoe is hilarious (just love him) but the narrator was horrible. Definitely not up to Zanetti’s usual standard. He was pretty monotone & didn’t do the various voices well. Disappointing.

Disappointing, but entertaining

There was no relevant backstory, in order to relate the main characters together they met in unforgiven however, there was nothing to ascertain what took on in between the time of their meeting and the time associated in this book.
In addition, they change the narrator, I am blind, and I rely heavily on narrator, and if your first five books have one specific narrator And you change the next book to a different narrator, it breaks the flow and makes it hard to get into the fantasy of the book

Not as good as the other Audio in this series

I love the story but the narration was just ok. His voice made me lose interest and it was hard to finish the book. The other Narrator for this series did sooo much better. This guy reminds me of the IA Audible. Harder to concentrate. Made me want to sleep.

Great Opposites Attract

What happens when a beautiful gadget geek who works for Homeland Security (and HATES lawyers), has to depend on an attorney to prove she isn't a killer? Sparks fly... When these two opposites have to work together they sizzle, if only they can stay alive long enough to see where this new attraction can go.

Millie is an electronics whiz that has worked with the Deep Ops team on several cases and is currently on an undercover case to discover the financial misdeeds of a banking executive for HSS. The same executive is also an unfaithful husband and Scott Terentson is representing his soon to be ex-wife as her divorce attorney as a special favor to his mother. When Millie and Scott collide at the office of the cheater, Scott jeopardizes Millie's undercover job for his client. Once again reinforcing that lawyers cannot be trusted. But when Millie is accused of murder and her life is threatened, it's Scott that comes to her aid and his need to protect quickly turns into something more.

I really enjoyed this edition of the Deep Ops series, which is a must buy for me. I have followed this series from the beginning and it helps to read this series in order since Deep Ops team members make an appearance in this book. It’s what they do when one of their own is in danger. Cannot wait until the next book... And yes, Roscoe is a central character in this book and he may or may not have discovered alcohol and helped himself to some designer heels... Always nice to have some fun in the middle of the murder, mystery and mayhem.

The story was great

The narrator did a soso job. Not the standard we are use to. He has a great voice in some ways other characters need to be different.
