About this listen

Despite marriage to a millionaire's daughter and success as a vice president of Donaldson's, Inc. - manufacturers of the world-famous Donaldson's Dog-Joy - Freddie Threepwood, Lord Emsworth's younger son, still goes in fear of his aunts when at Blandings Castle. Full Moon tells the story of how he faces them down, while promoting the love of Bill Lister and Prudence Garland. A charming Blandings comedy with a full Wodehouse complement of aunts, pigs, millionaires, colonels, imposters, and dotty earls.

Hi

Listening to this series in sequence is great for context but this one is my favorite so far. The narration is spot on, the pacing is great, and Woodhouse’s snappy and hilarious style truly shines here.

Wodehouse does it again!

I’ve been devouring the Blandings series the last few months, and they’ve helped my mental health so much! To laugh during these stressful times has been the best thing, and I’m so glad I found this series.
The narrator was excellent. I enjoyed the machinations of Galahad, the bumbling mistakes made by the Ninth Earl of Emsworth, and the bevy of young lovers beset by troubles and far too many aunts. 😁 Definitely get this if your spirits need lifting.

New Look. Same Great Story.

Life is full of mystery. For example, why would Audible carry two editions of the same recording? And, having bought, enjoyed and reviewed the first version years ago, why would I snap up the second edition without a second thought?

True, this edition features a tasteful type treatment, whereas the first sports a poorly executed drawing of what looks like people in a movie theater—an image that has nothing to do with the story.

But it’s the same, flawless performance by Jeremy Sinden of the same Wodehouse story—one of his funniest and best-constructed. At times you can hear Sinden struggling to keep a straight face.

Maybe because it was free (thank you, Audible Plus). Maybe because I feel better about myself with a tasteful image on my phone. Maybe I really am that shallow.

Fantastic narration!

I cannot hear any other voice when I read a Wodehouse. Sinden does a fantastic job of delivering the author's eye roll and building an entire cast. Delightful!

Just loved this!

This was my first PG Wodehouse book, and I absolutely loved it. The narrator is fantastic. I am now eager to listen to Wodehouse’s other books.

Excellent narration

Always enjoy PG Wodehouse! Great cast of characters, including Empress of Blandings, a prize Shropshire pig.

More Blandings shenanigans

If you are a fan of the Blandings series, this one is worth the listen. This might be the first Wodehouse book I’ve listened to where I could hear the reader giggle at times. Mr.Sinden is up there with Cecil as an excellent Wodehouse narrator.

Lunatics abound in Full Moon

Jeremy Sinden is excellent and had me in splits with his narration and imitations of a crazy cast. Of course, no one compares to Wodehouse and his ability to stir the English aristocracy to life through all manner of madness.

Wonderful Wodehouse!

This is yet another wonderful Blandings Castle caper. Very “Sounds Off” farce style. This narrator has managed to capture the American accent and the female voice better than most of the narrators in this genre, making a delight to listen to, while the writing makes the story easy to envision.
