About this listen

The disturbing visions that helped Daniel Byers solve a deadly mystery have finally quieted, and the sixteen-year-old basketball star is looking forward to things settling back to normal. But when his father mysteriously disappears, Daniel realizes that the key to finding his dad rests in deciphering his chilling hallucinations.

Soon, long-buried secrets begin to surface, revealing clues that could help him locate his father. But as the past collides with the present and reality begins to blur around him, Daniel faces a race against time to save his dad before it's too late.

Filled with pulse-pounding suspense, Fury continues the thrilling young adult Blur Trilogy from bestselling author Steven James.

Didn't work for me.

Enjoyed the first book. This one seemed hurried. Not well thought out. I'll have to catch the third book cheap before I'll finish the series...

James Tops Blur with Fury!

With his sequel to "Blur," Steven James manages to give us even more in his exciting novel, "Fury." Daniel Byers returns as the charming protagonist: the teenager with an old soul. Daniel has yet another mystery to solve; but with this plot we are given a more complicated, developed sequence of events that includes more from the supporting characters we love, the precocious Kyle and Daniel's sweetheart, Nicole. We are also left with the hint that Daniel will better realize his gift in the final book of the trilogy. Nick Poehdl's talented reading adds to the quality of the books, drawing readers even deeper into Daniel's life. Overall, a delightfully gratifying experience.

More of a filler book

Steven James' book 2 follows a similar path for the MC, what with his forgotten past forcing itself with affronts to his sanity with seemingly paranormal visions, some of which manifesting into tangible objects, all compelling him to face his past and solve a mystery that may provide answers to a missing loved on. This series definitely falls comfortably into the YA genre but is still a compelling mystery/thriller story.

Even though the plot is similar, it does move the story forward and hints at something of a big reveal to occur in book 3.

Nick Podehl's performance is outstanding and makes for an enjoyable and nail-biting listening experience.

Note: I also recall writing a review for this book back in 2015 but am unclear why it was removed.

This series is so GOOD!

I am looking forward to the last one in this series. Yes, it's filed under "children or young adult". That doesn't matter because the book keeps moving and building. Start from book 1 if you decide to get it. Nick Podehl is the perfect narrator for these characters. One character sounds like Jack Nicholson. If you listen to this book, you'll know which one. Young adult suspense at its best!

Fury Sends Daniel to Save His Dad

Something has happened to Daniel's father, the Sheriff. Daniel can't remember, but he knows it was very bloody, and the detective and doctors are trying to tell him he did it. Daniel is being held at a mental hospital, and he is frustrated he can't look for the truth. Who is really on his side? Can Daniel even trust his friends?

Fury, book 2 of the Blur trilogy, ...

again demonstrates that Steven James is one of the masters of the teen thriller genre. I look forward to the release of the final book in the series in early 2016. James is, of course, best known for adult thrillers.

Terrific sequel!

Another great performance by Nick Podehl! Sequel to Blur is almost as good as Blur...but not as good. Out of 5 stars, I give it a 4. The storyline is hardly realistic, but it really doesn't matter. Had the performance been bad, I would have given the review a lower grade. Nick Podehl makes it so easy to listen to - the time went by so fast! Same group of characters (I like to call them the 'Scooby Gang') once again help Daniel figure out his blurs in a life or death event.

Worst part of it all? Waiting until Spring of 2016 for the last book! I hope this becomes an ongoing series, rather than a trilogy!

Interesting Twist...

I read books like this with my grandchildren who are middle schoolers. This trilogy kept everyone wanting to read more! Good characters the grandchildren could identify with, fast paced and there was a number of little twists! All in all we thought it was a very good book and the children love Nick Podehl!
